Horror. Tragedy in France. My thoughts are with Paris

Terrorist attacks in Paris. 5 explosions. 100 hostages in a theater. Hostages are tweeting that they are being executed one by one.
 
This is horrific. Terrifying. Those poor people and their families. My heart goes out to them.

I'm fine. Le Bataclan is a couple hundred meters away from the showroom in the same street but everyone is fine -- and I'm safe in Denmark, (like I was on January 11th).

My heart aches for the victims, their families, and the peaceful citizens of Paris. This is a horrible act of terrorism by cowardly bastards. These Islamic terrorists need to be hunted down and destroyed like the rabid animals they are.

It's not just Europe that needs to be alert, the entire world is infected with these sick beasts, hiding, cautiously waiting, pretending to be neighbors and law abiding citizens until activated. Don't think for a moment there aren't cells and lone wolves imbedded in our country, not to mention the wanna-be freaks lurking in the shadows of the underground.

This could have just as easily been on American soil....Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle or even a small sleepy country town. These extremists are here, quietly waiting, watching, and pretending to be innocent people. You had better be prepared to defend your life and liberty every day at any moment. The government nor the police can protect you. Politicians run their mouths giving speeches in the aftermath of horror about what needs to be done. That's all politicians do. Police arrive after the fact with guns drawn, swat teams looking menacing, armored vehicles parked everywhere so they can gather statistics for the record books and appear to be in control. None of that means squat after the terror has been committed and the carnage is spread on the floors, sidewalks, and streets. The EMS crews do the hero's work of trying to save the lives of those injured and the dirty work of removing dead bodies.

If you are one who is unprepared to defend your life and your family's lives, silently relying on the government and police to come save you, then you are an easy target and a future statistic to be gathered once the police finally arrive on the scene. A disarmed populace become sheep for the armed wolves. When seconds matter dialing 911 on a cellphone won't save you. Good luck with that. As a former member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I am still committed to that oath. No where in that oath did I pledge to hide in the closet on my knees calling 911 when under attack.

My heart is truly aching, my stomach is in knots, and my anger level has gone up. This has to end. God bless our Parisian brothers and sisters. May the world wake up, rise up, and exterminate these terrorist from the face of the Earth.
 
Dan, sometimes I think you get a bit carried away, but I agree 100% with your post. I am sick and tired of these religious a-holes. Hopefully, Russia, Europe, and the U.S. align, and just decimate these fools, and when the next weed pops up, destroy it at its roots.
 
My cousin lives in the neighborhood where all this is happening. Thankfully she and her boy are safe.

Anyone hear from Jerome? Jerome...let us know that you and your family are safe.

Just received an email from Jerome. He and his family are safe. He said he is in the west side and the attacks were in the east of Paris. I am happy to know he and his family are fine.

Thank you so much. I am relieved for him and his family but feel so sad and terrible for Paris and all the victims. Such an unnecessary tragedy. There is no excuse for this behavior.
 
My deepest thanks for your messages, my dear and beloved US friends.
The country and the free world is under the shock.
But we will overcome.
We will defeat those monsters. No doubt.

France made some successful bombings on Isis positions since a few weeks, including important oil production sites. They are replying.
We'll bomb them more and they will pay for that horror. The only thing they will get is to tighten our links.

My thoughts are for the victims and with the sorrowed families.
I was planning my usual visit to the synagogue today, as every Chabbat, but the Paris authorities asked for people to stay home and forbids any meeting. I am sad because today we NEED to pray.
Life will get back to normal but probably not today.

Once again, gratitude for the kind words for the Parisians.
Dan, I agree with your analysis. This may happen anywhere.
 
My heart is saddened by these atrocious attacks. I'm so happy our French friends and their families are safe.
