He's between a rock and a hard place for sure. He is a good man!
I guess his partnership is a "minority" ownership.Holy smokes! Makes you wonder how Ron feels about that.
I always thought that any publicity was good but it seems in this industry people don't feel that way.A lot of the audio drama goes over my head, but I would have thought the show is a positive for WBF. I think a lot of people thought it was affiliated with WBF when it started. What am I missing?
The irony is so rich here that I had to do a double-take. (Did he REALLY just say that?)agreed, talking about the.5% customer and million dollar speaker is absurd, they need to get back to real life and quit feeding ones ego, I actually turned it off after about 40 minutes.
a real life system is different for everyone. This site is about high end audio and High End Audio has been around for a long time. At what price things become non real world is not up to me.The irony is so rich here that I had to do a double-take. (Did he REALLY just say that?)
Believe it or not, almost everybody in the world would consider the cost of the items in your signature absurd. Certainly nowhere remotely close to a "real life" system.
From what I've seen of Ron on the HiFi Five videos and your characterization of him here, he seems like someone who is more interested in civil discourse than he is in always winning the argument (even if there isn't really an argument). How many years have you been reading WBF? Ron is not afraid to say what he wants, but when confronted, he backs down and sometimes even apologizes even when it wasn't warranted.
I'm certainly not in the high-end neighborhood. I look as a form of dreaming!a real life system is different for everyone. This site is about high end audio and High End Audio has been around for a long time. At what price things become non real world is not up to me.
I've been doing this for over 50 years and the numbers are relative however the last twenty things IMO have gotten out of hand as much of what has happened isn't about the audio quality anymore or not about strictly the audio quality alone.
This is what is out there today and if you are interested in non high end items then I am sure there are sites that discuss that as well.
You don't search the Michelin guide for 3 star restaurants and then complain they are too pricey . You cant shop for Ferrari's and Porsche's and do the same.
Audio has many levels and from what I see here that it is about the upper part.
I do sell towards that place, no apologies , as that is what I am interested in but even at that area there are things that represent value and those that don't.
then enjoy it. To each his own. I can enjoy looking at cars or houses I will never be able to won without trying to tear them down. I feel the same there as well there is the leading edge and what is over the top and they represent no value either they are "ART". There is a place in the world for that however it is not al there is. I used to be a serious foodie and loved finding the best places to dine. Today I have little interest in that anymore. I still like to eat just don't like dining, don't like 200 per person meals , its just life and I don't have issues with those who do .I'm certainly not in the high-end neighborhood. I look as a form of dreaming!
I see no irony, I could careless what my system cost, im saying 99% of folks want to hear about more affordable systems and I am one of them, my rig is pricey but million dollar speakers alone, and all this is absurdThe irony is so rich here that I had to do a double-take. (Did he REALLY just say that?)
