Hi team,

My name is Bernard. I did in fact register here 10 years ago but was never really active.

I am based in Tokyo and I have recently updated my system significantly and am using this opportunity to connect to the audiophile community.

Here is a quick summary of what I am currently using:
- conditioner: PS audio P10
- source: Mojo modded mac mini (Illuminati V2 LPS) running Roon core connected to Devialet by Ethernet (Air)
- pre/amp/dac: Devialet 1000 Expert Pro core infinity
- speakers: Wilson Benesch ACT One Evolution P1
- network: Melco S100 connected to home switch with fiber optics
- cables: power cable - Shunyata Sigma NR soon to be replaced by Sigma NR V2, speaker cable - Chord Company Sarum T, digital RCA-RCA cable: Chord Company Sarum T, ethernet cables: Acoustic Revive

Looking forward to chatting with you guys.

Regards,
Bernard

welcome, it will be great to have your input and perspective.

there is such a great and unique audio tradition in japan... very lucky to be in the home/epicenter of such great "craftsman" audio products such point-to-point, hand-wired valve amps.

also, i hope you are taking advantage of your location by shopping at disk union there in tokyo.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, much appreciated.

I must confess that few of the components I currently use are Japanese. My hub, Ethernet cables, cable elevators and amp vibration absorbers... which are probably not part of the Japanese audio tradition.

I used to own a Rotel power amp and high end Denon AV separates though. I loved the feel of those.

Today my source is American, my amp is French and my speaker are British...

I used to spend a lot of time at diskunion but I stopped buying physical music 5 or 6 years ago. No more space in the house. :-)

Cheers,
Bernard

Bernard, welcome back!

Love to hear what’s going on in Japan.

I have several friends that are into Japanese electronica but here in the US.

Welcome back Bernard , and seems to be a really nice system you have there.
Are you lucky enough to have a good sized room ? i am thinking of what i hear that Japanese homes are tiny.

Welcome it’s always interesting to hear from audiophiles halfway around the world and home to a rich audiophile tradition.

I need to take new ones after the WB Act One Evo joined the familly. But you will see it’s mostly concealed since it’s located in our living room. Only the speaker and amp are visible.

Biwa is famous for largemouth bass, good friends of ours own Oguri marine on the lake.

I had plans to go back this Spring but current conditions cancelled that trip! I may go back in November but that’s a big if as well. If I do, I’ll head back to Biwa and visit your friends! Loved the country and people.
