Hi everyone, and first of all, thank you for welcoming me to this community. I’m really looking forward to sharing experiences and talking about music and audio gear with all of you.

My audio journey started when I was about eight years old with an Akai reel-to-reel tape recorder. One of my first real musical experiences was George Benson’s album Give Me the Night. It wasn’t just the music that impressed me, but the sound as well. The atmosphere, energy and production of that album made a huge impression on me and really sparked my love for great sound.

Thanks to my father, I grew up listening to artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Johnny “Guitar” Watson and Lou Rawls. It’s music I still enjoy today.

Of course, great audio equipment is important to all of us, but as Bruce Swedien once said: “It’s all about the music.”

I’m looking forward to sharing experiences, discovering new music and learning from all of you.

Good morning, everyone!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I actually joined this forum thanks to Brad.

In a moment of madness, I bought a pair of Audio Research Reference 610T monoblocks without ever having seen or heard them in person. I bought them from a dealer in Norway, and with a little luck they should arrive on Monday.

Of course, the first thing I’ll do is unpack them and give them a thorough visual inspection. Then, sometime next week, they’ll go to an experienced technician not far from where I live for a complete technical inspection.

My current power amps are Octave MRE 220 SE monoblocks. To my ears they sound absolutely fantastic, and they have complete control over my speakers. So I certainly didn’t need the 610Ts for better sound. I bought them because I wanted to experience these legendary beasts for myself and enjoy the adventure!

Are there any other Reference 610T owners here besides Brad? I’d love to hear about your experiences with them.
