Hi everyone

I have been listening to music for a while now and had stopped changing equipment for about a decade due to the arrival our daughters. Anyway, with us getting stuck indoors due to the current pandemic and the kids being better in keeping their fingers to themselves, I recently treated myself to a pair of TAD ME 1 and an older Aurender S10 streamer to try out an alternative source.

My present system in a small 12x18x9ft living/listening room consists of
Aurender S10 with Holo Spring Level 3 DAC
Esoteric K05 with Cybershaft OP 13 OCXO clock
Accuphase E450 Integrated Amplifier
TAD Micro Evolution One
Power cables from Shunyata, Argento and Acrolink
Oyaide DR-510 for all digital connections (so far) and Acrolink doing analog duties and speakers
Hydra and RGPC for power treatment

I'm here to learn more as I'll likely upgrade my old Accuphase int amp in the new future.

Happy listening :)

Welcome to the best forum you could have found. There has been lots of Accuphase discussion here in recent months. Enjoy the ride.

Welcome to the ‘Shark’. Hong Kong has an active audio community with some of the most dedicated and active owners in the world. When I lived there in the late ‘90s, I would wander the stores speaking with the patient shop owners. Most wouldnt give me the time of day.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome... I suppose my response will be half a day away since everyone is halfway across the world :).

@shadowfax.
I’ll be very curious to learn more on the new Accuphase E800s. I demoed its recently together with the ME1 before making the speaker purchase but the E800 unit was fresh out of box and sounded a little tight for a class A amp. Likely will visit the AD again in a couple of months as I’m still recovering from my speaker purchase, haha

@crwilli.
Your summary of us in HK is spot on and nowadays, the apartments are even tighter and people have even less patience... That’s why we run to forums to learn rather than asking those grumpy sales or shop owners. Having said that, not all of HK is like this and there’s still good people who are willing to share. I just had a 20 mins phone conversation with the passlabs dealership sales yesterday asking about the differences of the INT 60 vs 250 without meeting him. With a sales guy like that, I’m sure passlabs will be a candidate amp sometime down the road

Looking forward to chat more with you guys... Stay safe and happy listening
