Had a real surprise today with Wilson Audio speakers ...

The latest batch of Wilson speakers are no joke. Glad to see you opened your mind and your ears, Joe. The question is, will you be opening up the wallet as well? :D :D

Short answer, Yes. When is a bigger question. I also need to hear the Alexia again to make sure.

Joe,

Any opinion on the Sabrina's?

I can't say too much because they were playing with the ARC class D amp. It was stone cold and I'm not a big fan of that particular amp. However, I could tell that they have tremendous potential on the right gear. Huge sound, way bigger than their size would suggest. Has the Wilson house sound but more refined. I'd love to hear them on the ARC GS series gear or my CJ combo, my VAC Sigma or even some of the higher end McIntosh gear. Could be amazing. I could sense the DS225 was definitely a weak link.

Hmmmm, I would love to hear them setup with different gear than the Class D myself. Wonder if they will be in a more ideal setting / system at RMAF?

Hmmmm so far anyone heard the speakers with ARC GS Pre and GS150 they all loved the setup. Included the SF room in show which Mike fell in love with .

Maybe the ARC GS series are real gem here.

Joe -

Glad you had a great experience listening to the ARC GS - Wilson Sasha 2s. I have not listened to this combo but I bet it is terrific.

i have listened to the GS 150 driving a pair of Wilson XLFs. The GS did a fantastic job driving them - dynamic with very good slam. Lots of detail and very musical. I think this amp is a gem.

If you want to hear a demo come to my store is just a few thousands miles

:)
P.S.
Local beer included
Hahahaha

Thanks Mike. I think the ARC GS series combo is a winner. I loved what I heard. I am sure the new ARC GS on my Strads would be KILLER!

:exciting: Now THAT would be fun!

The local dealer usually has the Sabrina's paired with the G-Series AR gear and it sounds great. When the Wilson people where at the store demoing the Sabrina they wanted to show the speakers versatility. During each demo they first paired the Sabrina's with Parasound's latest ~$2K integrated and they sounded great. After several songs they swapped out the Parasound for Nick Doshi's tube gear and you heard what they are truly capable of.

Hey Joe, I'm glad you and Bruce had such a great time! I've been wanting to hear the ARC GS gear for some time now, especially on the Salons :exciting:

ARC GS will be killer on the Salons Mark :D but YOU might need more power. GS 250 perhaps if and when they come out ;)

I could tell the Sabrina were not the Wilson of old. The newer speakers are wonderful.
