Give Gryphon credit for the clever packaging to facilitate installation. Otherwise I don’t think you could fit a forklift into that room.

Please share what you hear, once broken in, when you move the bias between L, M, and H. And how does it differ with speakers of different efficiency?

For those familair with Gryphon Antileon and Mephisto, the Apex sounds even more like a Mephisto - even more dynamic, more resolution etc. Not a romantic sounding amp by any means.

A friend of mine had one at home with the new preamp.

Elberoth,

Wasn’t clear to me from your post if you listened to the Apex. Respect your opinion and I think you previously posted that you would love to have the AE (my amp). I haven’t heard the Mephisto and the Apex is way, way out of my reach (am still saving to upgrade my Magico S3s to the Kharmas). Would love to hear more of your (or your friend’s) thoughts on the Apex.

@SoundRebels I see you are/were using Synergistic Research power cords. How did that work with the Apex? And how are they different from the Vanta power cords that come with the Apex?

We did, but Synergistic Research Galileo SX AC were replaced on ... Furutech Evolution II Power with IEC 19 plugs. Vantas were OK, but in our system they lack of body and drive.

I couldn't find any info on the Evolution II power cord on Furutech's site. Everything else in the Evolution II line - speaker cables, digital cables, interconnects, etc.. looks to be meant for value-conscious people (like me). But it seems like you preferred the sound of the Evolution II over the far costlier Galileo SX. Am I interpreting this correctly?

That is one BEAST of an amp!

You're right and in EU Evo II power is still available - https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/power-cables/furutech-evolution-power-ii-power-cable-18m-p-10403.html
