FedEx lost my turntable

Rob,

I sincerely hope that this gets resolved quickly with your package arriving in fine shape.
It is the busiest time of the year for shipping companies-- more chances of precious packages getting lost. I have learned to always ship anything above 50 pounds and worth more than ~ $2000 by LTL Freight. Costs a little more but the peace of mind is totally worth it.

I won't have any thing shipped by Fedex to Me, shipping comes out of Baton Rouge by folks with a bad attitude...They don't like the swamp or Pit Bulls...

Told one company not to ship with Fedex, company said they had exclusive contract with Fedex told them to cancel order [LMAO] they found a way to get it here...

Never have problems with UPS or USPS mail lady gives 'Ebeaux the pit bull treats...

Wow, that sucks. How do you know when they are going to deliver the package? I can't sit at home all week missing work just in case FedEx is going to show up. What a bunch of shysters.

You won't have to wait home all week just a specific day. When a signature is required Fedex call the day before and notifies you that someone over 21 must be there to sign for it. If you don't want it dropped off the next day the will hold it at their location for "you" to pick up.

Most of my FedEx deliveries come out of their Terre Haute, IN, facility. It's about an hour drive for them to show up to my house. There have been numerous times that FedEx didn't have enough deliveries in my area to make it worth their while to make the drive to my house so they gamed the FedEx tracking system at the end of the day. All day long if you checked the tracking number it would say "Package is on truck for delivery." At the end of the day, it would switch to say "Delivery attempted but no one home." One time when I bought a Defy 7 MKII amp, I took the day off from work because I knew a signature was required for delivery. Imagine how pissed I was when I sat there all day waiting for FedEx to show up with my amp only to find at the end of the day the driver entered a lie into their system to say he had attempted delivery but no one was home. It has happened several times since. I have called and raised hell and they apologize, but they still do it whenever they feel like it which is maddening.

mep...Same with Me on "Delivery attempted but no one home" UPS leaves a notice in door they were there, guess Fedex doesn't know some people have security cameras...
Your right about Fedex doing whatever they feel like, can't find a phone number for Baton Rogue terminal to bitch have to use 800 number...

You are exactly right and FedEx would leave a note on your door too if they really showed up. And yeah, they don't want you to have the phone number to their terminal locations. You can get them if you call FedEx though.

I really think your spot on. I UPS guy told me after I had next day air and it took 3 days to get a small package. "If a carrier just doesn't have any other runs in your area, they will bypass you " and make their route on time. Your out of the way location, well is "out of the way". I told him, where do I get my refund on my next day delivery. You just drive down to the UPS or FEDEX "MAIN" shipping terminal and for me that was 35 miles away and get your refund. Of course the US Post Office is no better, but the do deliver on Sunday for priority packages and mail. Heck I might try that for small items. At least my postman knows what an album is and not a Frisbee to be tossed to your door.

Don't get me started on mailmen and LPs.

I bought this LP from a guy in England. You can read the big "Fragile" sticker on the front. The mailman actually bent the LP in half so he could jam it in my mail box.

My mailman is a combination of stupid mixed in with a heaping helping of not giving a damn what packages say on them. He bends all kinds of mail that says "Do Not Bend" like calendars for instance.

I got a great mailman. Turns out he's into vinyl, too. So when he sees LPs being shipped to me, he makes sure he places the boxes vertically up. Probably not necessary, but definitely a nice gesture.

My mailman is a sharp as a bowling ball.

We had a mail carrier this year that would scan my LP boxes as delivered when they weren't. they did show up the very next day and I figured out they were doing what MEP said, gaming the system.

postscript: I spent an hour on the phone yesterday with FedEx's 'customer service' their supervisor said my box was found in the "customs cage." they apologized saying they usually scan them daily but mine went astray. Its still not posted on the website, I hope they're not just saying that to pacify me.

Rob - Keeping my fingers crossed for you, that would be great news if true! Hoping that the missing box gets delivered to you soon safe and sound!

I don't think they would lie about that and hopefully your table will arrive in good condition and this story will have a happy ending. Not like a happy ending at a massage parlor mind you, but a happy ending nonetheless.

That sounds legit. I called about my lost FedEx package and because it was sent ground, that particular department wasn't working the weekend so I'll have to wait until Monday. Same may be with scanning out of of the customs cage.

Fingers crossed.

Rob,
Sounds like it may arrive after all. That will be a relief for you. BTW, what table is it?

PPS: well, the box turned up (8 days late). I received a separate letter from FedEx stating that my shipment was being held for further inspection by the US Dept of Homeland Security, I guess its just the sign of the times. the contents came through in good shape. thanks for all the good juju, you guys are great!
