Mike “Audioshark Founder/Admin” had invited a few of us true audiophiles over for a listening session to his current main dedicated 2CH setup with the wonderful Alexia's yesterday. Everyone was just VERY much enjoying what they were hearing including me for sure! The pictures of his room does not do justice, you have to see it in person, it is a VERY good dedicated listening room and will be even better when he places some bass traps to cure a slight bass overhang which many of us have experienced in our own rooms before.

I would like to say the sound I was hearing was just Very musical and relaxing while still possess the details to allow you to truly enjoy the decay of the cymbals, playing of the piano keys. The vocals were spot on with correct realistic tones for both male and female vocalist. The brass section sounded very romantic with a touch of soul. Pluck of the guitar strings were projected in a way you swear you could feel the strings vibrate. The bass section has a very nice tonality to it and sounded realistic but for my personal taste I would like a little bit tighter forceful punch but I think due to tub amps you may not get that like you would with SS amps. I’ve always experienced tube amps to be a little soft on bass. I would say it possess that World Class play back magic that will even get better as time goes on. WOW, what a enjoyment it was!!!

Thank you for the invite Mike!!!

Thank you George! Always great to see you and the other golden ears! :)

Your comment on a little more tighter punchier bass is interesting. I heard the same thing - and it wasn't like that a week ago. The only change I made was the power cords. So last night I swapped out the power cords on the amps and got the tight, punchier bass back! Some Stillpoints under the amps may enhance things further. I'm at the micro fine tuning part now. Loving it! :)

Hey !!! Where was my invite !!! Bwwaaaaa

LOL...Glad you guys had a good time...It is a great feeling when you can have friends over to enjoy what you have built...I always long for that ..but being friendless, well...My dogs LOVE my system...WOOF...

Just kidding (about friendless - the dogs do like to be with me in the music room)

I was not invited also
We need to prepare an impeachment to Mike.
:)
And you are not friendless, we have each other. Come home and bring your dog
:D

Too late Mike,
Now to compensate your bad hosting you need to come my Home and be with me 1 whole week. Drinking , eating super nice food , beaching and lots of Dominican Girls

Nothing less
Not negotiable

Hey, I don't even have pets let alone friends or even aquaintences! You have a wife and dogs, so your two up on me right out of the gate. I'm also not a "true audiophile" so I'm not even allowed to do "get togethers". Of course, I'm not even a fake audiophile and don't want to be an audiophile of any stripe. My philosophy is to let others enjoy stuff, I'm staying home and listening to music.
I bet the dogs especially like your woofers! LOL!

Hey..I am going to Nelson's house..Mike you have a nice rig and all but Nelson has "bonus features"..aka Dominican girls...LOL

The "golden ears" boys invited me along as well... I'm not sure why. :bonkers:

Congratulations to Mike for finding the holy grail he's been searching for. The sound isn't just impressive... it's jaw-dropping! It really is the complete package, but the most impressive thing to me was the presentation of the vocals and the brass and stringed instruments. Just awesome really.

The bass wasn't shabby by any means, but it wasn't up to the level of the rest of the system - I'm glad Mike's got that sorted. :) Mike tells us that there will be additional improvement when the bass traps are in - I'm not sure how that could be but we'll see. :D

Definitely not the kind of sound you here every day! Kudos to Mike for putting it together!

Thanks Howard! It was great having you guys over as always.

P.S. Have you tried to hookup the Lumin yet?

It goes in this afternoon. I read online that the USB hard drives should plug right in. :D

Howard, as long as the usb has it's own power, at least that was our findings down here last weekend.

Mike, it's always a warm fuzzy & great to here your guests wax lyrical, you have some great gear & now the room & isolation are definitely paying off by the sounds of things, congrats.

Thanks Kev. I'm delighted with my room. It has gone from bad...to, well, damn good. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when the effective (but butt ugly) tube traps arrive. :)

I'm enjoying thinking about the micro stuff (a cable tweak here, stillpoints there) instead of the macro stuff (speakers, amps, etc.)

How you enjoying the Shunyata cables? I'm loving the Alpha Analog and Alpha Digital. My HC's need a little more break in time.

What about me ??????????

I'm mad with Mike not you Mark.
I would never put you on this situation .

You imagine the work that is to be on a beach drinking beer all day and crowded full of Dominican women
. No , never do that to a friend

Only Mike deserves such hate

Hahahaha
