Do you go to concerts? If so, what was the last show you saw?

Mine, Dead Can Dance last year.

Seeing Aerosmith on July 3rd. I am seeing Morrissey, of The Smiths, this July as well and both Dave Matthews and Duran Duran later in the year.

I was hoping to see AC/DC this year.

I budget 3 to 4 K for shows a year 2 0r 3 a month sometimes more . Mostly smaller names a few hundred a ticket is my limit . I have seen AC DC good show ZZ Top also a good show. Jonny Winter 4 or 5 times .

I usually go once every couple of years to big rock concert type shows: last one was Steely Dan last September, before that was Coldplay a few years back and before that was the Police reunion tour back in 2007 I think. Usually do smaller Jazz shows 3-4 times a year.

We do about 70 concerts a year, essentially all classical. We just came back from the Verdi Requiem tonight at Cadogan Hall in London. We have done 18 concerts in 18 days in London and will finish with two concerts tomorrow - the finale is Joshua Bell playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the London Symphony and the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique.

Wow that is commendable

I used to back in the day. I have not been to a concert in years. I've always wanted to see Rush, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos....not gonna happen.
Besides things like rent and expenses get in the way of concerts, audio gear, etc. Besides, I also don't know anyone locally who is into music or anything, so even if I could attend a concert, I couldn't.

First time I saw Rush they were backing up Nazereth The ticket cost me $3.50 rush I have seen a few times.

Last concert we attended was Diana Krall in April. Wonderful from beginning to end and the musicians playing with her were excellent.

Last year into early this year was a good year for concerts for me. Sinead, Sarah McLachlan, Fleetwood Mac, Natalie Merchant, Led Zep tribute band, and Priscilla Ahn are some of the highlights. For classical, I have a subscription to the NY Philharmonic. We saw Yo-Yo Ma perform twice which was definitely a highlight of the year.

I'm hoping to see Garbage in the fall as they announced some shows in my area. Just gotta convince the wifey. But we will probably slow down going into next year. Some of the sound systems just don't do the music justice. City Winery and the Beacon Theater probably the best venues this year.

I saw Stevie Wonder a few months ago. I also go to the Dakota Jazz Club here in Minneapolis and have seen the Cowboy Junkies, Ramsey Lewis, Bob James with Hiromi to name a few. I have seen Joe Bonamassa at the Minnesota Zoo, and in recent years Eta James, BB King, Buddy Guy and Reverend Al Green at the State Fair a few years ago. At Axpona in Chicago this year I went to the Blues Club called the "B.L.U.E.S" 2 nights in a row and closed the place down with a friend.

I saw the Richard Thompson Trio at the Keswick Theater just outside Phila. a week ago. I'm making a pilgrimage to Red Rocks to see Neil Young in two weeks. I try to seem a SOFAR house concert every month or two.

David.

I saw Santana and CSN at Bethel Woods last summer. Bethel Woods was built on Max Yasgur's farm, the site of the original 1969 Woodstock Concert. I was sitting on a stone wall behind the Woodstock Museum eating my sandwich before the Santana concert when Carlos came riding up in a golf cart. I could hardly believe my eyes. He was getting the grand tour of the place. He stopped and said hi to me. He seems like a very nice and down to earth guy. Bethel Woods is like a big park with tall hills, many trees and green fields. It is a beautiful and amazing place.

I used to go to a lot of concerts, small indie bands, big acts in large venues, everything except stadiums... But I guess I'm getting old, as I don't go to nearly as many as I used to...

Last one I attented was Magma in Los Angeles, a couple of months ago, with a friend/colleague. It's always better to go with company :) But still, it was quite exhausting standing for a few hours, even though the show was fantastic!

Let's see if I manage to catch a few while I'm in San Diego next !

That's a RAD lineup!

Yea baby

Live shows are great. I saw Dead Can Dance last year. Brian Jones town Massacre were great as were Smashing Pumpkins recently.

Off to see The Church next week.

Jeff Beck and ZZ Top, Al Dimeola, Jacksonville Symphony with the Beach Boys, Orange Park Chorale, Clapton, Santana, and Diana Krall as far as larger shows. Try to get out to hear the local jazz groups when possible.
