Do you go to concerts?

Last year, I had 10 subscription tickets to the Chicago Symphony and saw probably a few more concerts outside those series. I went to approximately 15 Grant Park outdoor concerts. Plus, I saw about 10 other concerts usually recitals or chamber music. Next year, I have 3 series of Chicqgo Symphony concerts for a total of 15 concerts. One series is on the main floor, one in the lower balcony, and one in the gallery section.

Very nice!

Hey DRR, you ever make it down to St Augustine's amphitheater. We have Byan Adams tonight. We have had ZZ TOP, Beach Boys, Santana , Boston (2012) , Yes & Procol Harmen (7/2012), CSY, heck a lot. Photos | jacksonville.com

We have Mark Knopfler coming back in October.

Chris I love the amphitheater. Always have enjoyed outdoor concerts. That is where I saw Santana, Jeff Beck, and ZZ Top. Got my Mark Koffler tickets in my desk :D Enjoy the Ponta Vedra Concert Hall venue as well.

Rick we haven't been the Ponte Vedra hall yet. We do like going to the Amphi. It amazes me the groups they get in there.

Living in the boonies, it has been difficult. Nonetheless, I have been to many concerts: Cowboy Junkies, Emmy Lou Harris, Taj Mahal, Blind Boys of Alabama, Richard Thompson, JJ Cale, and many others.

Last year, I established a small "pied-à-terre" in SF, specifically to allow me to attend the SF Symphony at Davis Symphony Hall, and the SF Opera without having to drive 2 hours back home late at night. In fact, I am able to walk to the concert and back, and am throughly enjoying it! Much more to come.

However, my 1st class home system is my private "box seat" at the concert hall, and surpasses the real thing in certain ways!

Yep, sometimes it just sounds so much better at home. We go to about 6-10 unamplified concerts a year, and maybe half a dozen more local area talents just so my wife can watch me struggling to dance.

I will say that several of the concerts I attended in the last year I regret. Some of my old favs from the 70's and 80's are best remembered through recordings. After a certain point retirement isn't a bad option. A couple were frankly awful.
