I don't need advice ..I just want to vent and have a shoulder to cry on.
So my turntable project. The plinth is beautiful. I have been working on painting the arm base. I put two coats on and she was 99% beautiful. Hmm..1% ? One very small not noticeable blem that only I could see. So I let it dry for about 30 hours. Resprayed...AHHHHYYYYY...It made some sections crackle dammit. I have had this happen before.
So I wait 24 hours. Sand it down smooth. Clean surface. Spray again. Now even more crackles as the paint reacts.
Breathe.
Breathe.
So tomorrow I will sand it all down again.
Wait two days.
Remove what's left (its enamel) with oven cleaner or simple green.
Wait a day.
Prime.
Paint.
It crackles again I am going to tell you guys its a faux finish.
Thank you for listening (if you were here you would see me building a time machine out of wires, capacitors and tubes so I can go back to the original paint job - where is a DeLorean when you need one ? )
