Bricasti M28???

I was at Axpona and loved the Bricasti Tidal room. I was there with 3 friends and we all thought it was the best sounding room. They were running the M28 amps with the M1 as a DAC and preamp. I would not hesitate to get the M28's. Then you would need to upgrade to the Tidal speakers at $30K:D

I would make you hear them first. I heard them at Axpona and was not impressed and either was Michael Fremer. Caution is always good.

Hello Madflyod,

How do you know the M28 was the issue, a reviewer (MEP) told me it's not possible to discern where the bad sound is coming from, well without Tier1 experience.(Peter B)

Good sound credit is different ...

Bavarian05, the M28s are coming very soon, and the Aurender N10 will be here as well within two weeks, to be demonstrated with the M1.

Hi Brian. :hey:

Have you played with the N100H much? I really love mine. I found it took a few hundred hours to break in. You?

It may be of interest that the issue of Stereophile which should arrive very soon will have a followup on the amplifiers by John Atkinson.

I've been using the N100 with a 1TB SSD for quite a while and have demonstrated it to many to good effect. Performance of the N100H is similar, and it's selling well here.

I don't intend to high jack this thread, but curious about Aurender and how it sounds by comparison with Brystons BDP-2? Hard for me to imagine a better source, though the battery power sure seems like a great feature. To the best of my knowledge I don't have an Aurender dealer in Minnesota...

I cannot speak for the Bryston, but comparative auditions are always possible. Since I infer from your earlier posts that you are looking to attend the Bricasti event here in two weeks since you have family in nearby Naperville, there may be an opportunity after hours for you to compare the Aurenders (N10, W20, and N100) and perhaps against something you have. If you will be attending please contact me very soon. I do get up to Minnesota on occasion as well, being a dealer for a couple of manufacturers there.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your detailed response.
Much appreciated.

I strongly considered flying in for your event, though the matching gear is not familiar to me and dissimilar to my existing gear so assumed it would not give me a really good overall sense on how the M28s will be in my listening environment. I spoke with Bricasti and they were very helpful in answering all my questions regarding the M28s. I think I have a pretty good sense of what they will be like (or as close as one can get without actually auditioning them).

:-)

If an actual audition of the M28s in your system is of interest, now is the time to give me a call.

I've already placed my order.
Hopefully they sound as good as I think they will paired with my M1.
Very excited!

[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]. Congrats!! Send us pics when you get them.

Thanks Mike!
Will do. I am now trying to figure out if I should buy longer XLR cabling and shorter speaker cabling and get them very close to/behind my Guarneri EVOs. My current cables are one meter interconnect and 10 foot speaker cable. I've always heard the shorter the speaker cable the better and if given the option to go with longer balanced cabling.

Congrats, Keep us posted on how it sounds.

I think you will be splitting hairs on either way you go with the speaker cable and XLR length. Your probably talking a couple of feet or so. I doubt that the difference will be audible.

Thank you!

Will do.
I agree with you.
Decided to just hold off on spending more on cabling for the time being.
Though I would like to try a pair of pure silver cables in the future. Never cared for the sound of silver when mixed with copper, but the more I read about upper systems, silver seems to allow the best tonal shadings if the rest of the system is voiced right. Maybe one day...
