Brands you'd like to see more coverage of

Anyone seen/heard Sadurni horn speakers? They have an interesting look, the pair I heard was fabulous. At $40k may not be on everyone's shopping list though.

Speakers - restored apogees, various horns

Amps - Many valve amps from the EU - KR, Silvercore, NAT, to compare with Triode Corp, Wavac, etc etc

Those eastern european amps just have no USA market - I think that's why. I looked at them all recently and couldn't risk trying one. I think the Japanese brands have more of a US presence which helps.

Verity Parsifal was such a classic back in the day - good one.

Yes. Heard them at RMAF 2013. Very good. A touch too aggressive for my tastes, but I bet that could be tamed with the right amp/cable combo.

Makes me wonder why the exhibitors didn't do that at the show.

Speaking of Horns , seen these before ...?

These look like the Silbatone horns. Heard them many times at Munich, best room at Munich when they have the right Western Electric horns along with it, puts everyone else to shame, modern tech and all. The prices go up to 200k depending on the size though. The horn that I am contemplating is a DIY based on such designs, for a similar sound, much cheaper and lower WAF though.

Yes, Marty from WBF and I had a joint listening - not to our taste. You can PM Marty for more details.

I heard them with Merrill Audio Veritas, not sure the source or cables. The room was also treated with some type of diffusers, forgot the brand. The sound was dynamic but I didn't find it aggressive. That's subjective I realize.

From what I understand what gear is matched together at shows is more circumstance, or arrangements, more so than planned for synergy etc. Unless, maybe all brands are under the same house.

Oh, we would have a very long list.

Verity....that's a good one.

Alta Audio would be another that I would love to see more coverage of....they have some fantastic speakers.

yes I recently had to sell my lovely martin logan summit x speakers and got some verity audio Rienzi which are beautiful . they should be more highly publicised

What about thin walled BBC style speakers vs modern composite materials? I heard a pair of Spendor's last weekend and the cabinet was vibrating like crazy (by design). Coloration? Good? Bad?

I heard Spendor's new flagships at the Brussels HiFi Show last year.
Indeed intense vibration.
One of the worst rooms of that show.

BAT for sure
Thorens, if they are still making them. There was a lot of coverage in the audio press about new models coming out a year or so ago and I haven't seen anything about them
SOTA turntables

Air Tight
Audio Note
Proceed
Mark Levinson
Jeff Rowland
Vivid Audio
Revel
Furutech
Nordost
TAD
Audio-Technica

Do you want more ???

Proceed has been out of business for quite a while.

I'm not sure how Levinson markets in other companies, they do have new product out that is getting reviews, as well the Revel Performa 3 series that's been out a while and more recent new Concerta line. I believe the Levinson integrated #585 was a Stereophile Class A product.
