As compared with the typical Wilson, Magico, ARC, and Mac talk - what brands would you like to see more discussion about. Here are a few of mine:

Aerial
Proac
Balanced Audio Technology
Linn

All have been in business a long time, seem to be under the radar today.

Constellation Audio

Trenner & Friedl

Grandinote

Air Tight
Estelon (am I the only person who absolutely loves these speakers? Feels like it.)

I would also love more technical discussions surrounding speaker designs. When was the last time you heard someone talking about Transmission Line Speakers like my first pair of speakers back in the 70's (IMF)? What about thin walled BBC style speakers vs modern composite materials? I heard a pair of Spendor's last weekend and the cabinet was vibrating like crazy (by design). Coloration? Good? Bad?

But I digress....

How about Gamut? Stupid name, really good products. I like their ecosystem play.

Great thread by the way Keith. [emoji106]

As a side note, I would like to see more of budget electronics/speakers that perform well beyond their price point - Job, Nords, Spatials are great examples. Not so much about any specific brand but whatever fits the bill. Maybe a thread on how to build a great system with budget of 5k, 10k, 20k and so on....

Interesting that AG and BAT are on this list, which happens to be a great pairing.

manley a good one - they seem either focused on pro side or just not doing much hifi.

Manley promised me 7 new products at CES for consumer side. MEH. Nothing happened.

I love BAT.

I love the Tenor stuff too, just wish it wasn't so darn expensive.

David Berning?

Tidal speakers?

I would love to see more on KEF, one of the most renowned and revolutionary speaker brands from over 50 years ago.

I know there are some discussions on Wyred 4 Sound, but one area that does not get discussed enough is their pre-amplifier, the STP-SE might very well be the single biggest giant killer product on the market.

One brand that gets almost no discussions and I would guess that a vast majority of the members here on the Shark have no knowledge of is SST (amplifiers and pre-amplifier designed by a legend, finished by and brought to market by one of the young genius audio designers). Here is one of the few discussion threads here on the Shark. I highly advise reading the entire thread and I think you may come away with a fairly high impression of SST and their Ampzilla amplifiers.

What about Krell? Back in the 90's they seem to be out with new products and well represented, now I hardly see them mentioned. Are they ever at any of the shows?

Is Spectral still in business?

Plinius

Tidal is usually at Axpona but I don't see them on the forums much. Good sounding gear from what I can tell, Doug always plays "audiophile" type music, stuff to meditate to. He needs to take a lesson from MBL :)

2nd Jeff Rowland. I met him last year. A friend & I wandered into a listening room and he was there showing his gear. We don't get out much so we were sort of excited to shake a hand and talk. Jeff was quiet, and I got the impression he may have been wondering, what's wrong with these guys, LOL.

Speakers - restored apogees, various horns

Amps - Many valve amps from the EU - KR, Silvercore, NAT, to compare with Triode Corp, Wavac, etc etc

OTL amps

Analog - STS Thorens, Schopper Thorens

Cartridges - Looking for inputs on Tzar DST

I agree with Verity comments above. One of the best cones.
