Hi all,
passionated since my young age by sound reproduction I become a sound engineer after be a student at the French National Cinema School Louis Lumière. After 2 years at INA in Paris where I was doing a lot of studio and live music recording I move to a different discipline in motion picture sound recording. After 44 movies I have the opportunity to work at Lucasfilm for the THX division with Tom Holman. Sound reproduction become my passion in Stereo but also in multichannel from 5.1 to 22.2 with or without picture associated. Since 2007 I work for DTS in Europe. I love live music and I go very often to the Concert Hall and this is essential to understand how to reproduce sound with speakers and amps.

France: Nice women, fragrances, great croissants, rolling meadows, bordeaux wines, Focal speakers & oh yes, that bike race...yeah, you can stay ;)

Small world! My initial trainig was in a Cap 10. I currently own a Cap 232.

Actually I'll be in Chateauroux the last two weeks in August for WAC as the US judge.

Yes, small world! My trainee was Jean Marie SAGET, top pilote at Dassault for Mirage IV. The aerodrome was in Nangis close to Paris. When I was a kid my father was taking me at Châteauroux in the US base to see the airplanes he was working on. My father was an engineer spécialised on propel, he was part of Ratier Figeac.

Hi Loopy, I live in London. Do you have good Multichannel set ups I can listen to, including with your friends or clients, that are set up for classical music? I am looking for one with audiophile grade speakers. I was extremely impressed by Datasat Auro 3d 13.4 system, and since you mentioned MCH from 5.1 to 22.2, thought I would ask. I want to listen to strictly MCH classical. Quite willing to make a day trip to different cities in Europe, flying from London is easy.

Hi Bonzo, I have a Home Theater in 5.1 that I have build few years ago in 2003 below the roof of my house. It still there but is not active. My Lexicon MC12 is out of service and I have not repair it because Lexicon do not exist anymore. I am looking to build something mush bigger in an other building that I own. It will be base on a Trinnov Altitude Processor and the speakers are the "THX junior" PFMS 3000 made by GLCC under Lucasfilm license. I use them many time at the FISM (Forum International du Son Multicanal) at Radio France for Classical, Jazz and pop music. These speakers are a tri-amp with and analog cross over designed by Tom Holman ( TMH) . I plan to finish this multichannel listining/screening room in the next 12 to 18 months period. The magnitude of the investment is important due to the size of the room. The budget for the fabric and carpet is significant. I have already most of the equipment for the B chain but I have not the Trinnov Altitude yet. This room will be used for research and for professional applications in immersive sound with DTS MDA and DTS X. I also plan to make demos for people who need a consultant for private and professional project.
