no; I was only offering an alternative to the big Solutions. one that I live with and appreciate every day. if we are going to project ultimate amplifier choices for the Q7 MkII then the 458's should be in that mix.

and a friend had used the 458 dart mono's on the original Q7's while he had the Q7's and I'm told that was the best Q7 amp match those that heard it had experienced. I never had the opportunity to hear that combo myself.

I pinch myself every day that I'm fortunate enough to be able to enjoy my MM7's with the 458's.

taking nothing away from the Magico Q7 MkII.....or any other uber speaker.
Mike, I certainly agree the Dart NHB-458 mono's are amongst the best ss amps in the world, and your room is one of the truly outstanding rooms in high end. Even the MM1's which I heard are very resolving, dynamic speakers & have surprisingly good bass. I can't image how awesome the MM7's sound!

I haven't personally heard the 458's, but if they combine the sweetness of the CTH-8550 with the quietness and smoothness of the NHB-108, and add more slam and refinement, I could see them being a great match for the Q7's. I recall a Dealer in Lisbon dem'd that exact setup.

I would love to hear the Q7 MkII's with a Vitus MP-S201 and MP-L201 linestage. I think that would also be an excellent match, and befitting given the level of those speakers :audiophile:.

Agreed, but who has room for these? Those huge black tubes in the back are part of the speakers.

if you can get past the looks of these they are impressive speakers.

Jax: I didn't like them at all, the room when I heard them was way too crowed and they had 4 rows of seats and people where on top of people. Just curious if you have heard the Raidho and Scansonics yet? I though the KEF room was very well done, the Dynaudio Rooms where suffering from lack of good demo music and I wasn't wowed over by the XD line. I thought the dealer who was demoing the C2 Platinums butchered them with the demo church recorded music, I should know as these are still one of my favorite speakers I currently own! ;) I did pick up a pair of Scansonics 2.5 at the show from Tyler which are great!

Thanks Mike, great to see you as always. Strong Tampa area presence here.
I can see why Myles likes these Viero Cables, very transparent. I could use them to work out:D
I'm also impressed with the Power Modules stuff. Many folks tend to forget about David Belles, but he's forgotten more about amps than I will ever know. The MB60s we're using here are 60 watts of pure Class A. Dead silent on the 100+db/w D1s. <$10k per pair!
Hope anyone from AS identifies themselves so I can put the name with a face.
Great show so far, very good turnout. Miss that 85 degrees though...hah.

cheers,

AJ
