As I reported elsewhere, the MSB Network Renderer was considerably better than the MSB UMT Plus (which uses Oppo software for its streaming functionality). And that is with the UMT Plus hooked up via I2S!
I'm pretty sure it'll sound quite a bit better than the Oppo in your setup!

At the moment I am running Spdif between the Oppo and my Analog Dav.
Great to hear about the good rewiews that the Renderer has had. Have not seen any my self.
I think it is a great product and I am looking forward trying it out. Preferably side by side with a N10.

The Aurenders have Tidal streaming capability built in, while other sources can be streamed via Apple AirPlay, so yes, no problem. The N10 has USB, AES/EBU, SPDIF, and Toslink outputs.

AFAIK, there isn't any formal review out there yet... Another reason why I wanted to chime in with a quick opinion!We're getting an Aurender N10 in the store soon, so we'll be able to do that comparison, and add the Aries also!

Wow this thing can convert DSD to PCM on the fly via fpga!! Since it uses fpga I presume PCM to DSD is just down the road via software downloads and upsampling will be too. If so, this thing could be a match made in heaven for the Lampi's. (Then the only thing left to reach nirvana is an i2s DSD connection between the two.)

If anyone would know, Mike does. He convinced me to buy the Aurender N100H. He has an organic love for the brand. Both Aurender and Lumin is what fortifies him. It's his blood...his breath...his life. Mike, chime in!

The N10 and W20 have the DSD to PCM conversion on the fly over SPDIF and AES. I would not presume the reverse (up conversion/upsampling) to be available, and I think it's a bad idea to try to create what's not there in the first place. Play the music at its native resolution.
