Audionet Humboldt integrated

I’m currently running the Humboldt with Sabrina X’s I have on loan, and can’t really relate to your comment. I’ve tried the Humboldt on probably 50% power at the max to test the volume, but that was too loud for listening.

I would guess you probably have a source volume control somewhere in the system you’re not aware of (PC, DAC etc.) which is limiting the output volume.

welcome flemming!
that will be a long travel...

my system is on the way to become youtube and internet only. basicly i stopped streaming from quboz and tidal and also gave the cd collection away.

lol, no, not a second so far.
cd is pain in the ass and has no picture vs youtube. sad old world.
internet: live events, netflix, tv....

all you got to do is networking. then you get all the above in cd quality and beyond.
marketprice does reflect this. when i wanted to sell the collection i ask a guy who owns a shop and he told me i can bring him them thousends of discs but he will give me NOTHING for them.

Thats the usual talk to acquire free CD’s or LP’s ..

CD’s regularly sell for 3-25 bucks all day everyday , for those willing to deal with them. there’s no CD quality from streaming or server IMO, well thats been my experience from multiple compares ,in many settings. Music originally done on CD format will sound best with CDP’s , streaming is best for highdef recordings originally done for streaming /downloads , its the same of analog LP those recordings sound best on a TT..

Regards

you are right, thouse damn cd s sounded great and i am lying a little bit to myself.
on the side the differences are no more a dealbreaker and you will find lovers in each camp.

from another view, all this doesnt matter no more for me as my application is internet and i try to get it as good as possible. at the moment quboz sounds better than youtube but i think i get it very close as it is the very same thing.

btw the shop i was asking is selling NEW cd for 3-5 dollars. mine were 10 to 40 years old, bad condition, no casing.

No CDs, no streaming service is a surprising decision. YouTube is also streaming though, just wonder how good the SQ is…

How about downloads/ stored media?

Hi guys, i'm going to try to organise a shootout between my Gryphon Diablo 300 and the Audionet Humboldt in my system.
The Audionet dealer would be ready to bring me his Humboldt to make this shootout.
I think this has never been done and should be fun.
I'm curious to hear if the Humboldt can handle the load of my Thiel CS 3.7s as well as the Diablo 300.
I'm not planning to purchase the Humboldt for my present speakers but most likely for my next rig with this time around Borresen 03s.
Will keep you guys posted.

That sounds like an interesting undertaking, please keep us posted about what you hear.

Am a previous Diabolo owner and now have the Antileon Evo.

Looking forward to your thoughts, but surely the Humboldt will win this show down?

Gryphon vs Humboldt will depend on the speakers, I suspect.
Gryphon has greater ability to drive speakers, in my experience of the Antileon (not evo), whereas the Humboldt sounds very real- faster transients, clearer, more natural treble, relaxed presentation with unforced detail, a midrange that genuinely surprises you sometimes when you open your eyes and Norah ISN'T standing on your carpet!
This was all based on audio memory, so the results of a "live" shootout will be interesting!
Have you another pair of speakers available, to try them both on different speakers as well?

I don't have other speakers at the moment but like you stated the Diablo 300 will have the advantage of drive ability in this specific case.
On all other aspects the Humboldt should be much better and it better be considering the price difference between the 2 units.

thieliste...wow, if the dealer is doing such work, take it! :)
looking forward to your findings.
btw congrats on your new system! very well selected imho.

hey kuoppis, long time no see, how s life? very busy?
i see you implemented the sabinasX in your signature. settled with them and cancelled the kharmas?
how do you like them compared to your ex-lansches? what color are they? wife likes them?
in case you get the kharmas later on it is also very interesting as the size of all those 3 speakers is very similar yet another concept.

what would make sense is a turntable for the older recordings.

Yes, keeping very busy [emoji3].

But I’ve also lost interest in this forum, and therefore disengaged, as meaningful discussions are hardly possible anymore.

Every thread is railroaded into nonsense by some wannabe (often from Mike’s local Florida audio club), if you escalate it you are insulted by some lowlife supposedly administrating the forum. And Mike appears to have lost his touch to commerce a bit. And then everyone seems to think this Jay guy is some kind of semi-god, while he’s just a rather average self-aggrandizing show-off (his ramble on top/ mid/ bottom amplifiers just caused some vicarious embarrassment).

In a summary, not worth my time.

You're absolutely right (RE:" ...CD’s regularly sell for 3-25 bucks all day everyday")

Whoever tells anyone CD's are worth/valued at 'zero' is naive -and disengenous.

I remember a similar erroneous prediction from a co-worker regarding LP's/vinyl future
value (cirda 1989/90): "You won't be able to give em' away next year (LP's)".
I replied: " ..Ahh, I bet CD's will come down in price and vinyl always sought after while
the mint-condition/premium examples will command top dollar"

In all fairness (honesty) I never foresaw the vinyl resurgence boom in the 2010's-to-current.
But then again, I believed CD/digital would eevntually reach/surpass vinyl records inimitable
music making capability. Not so. At any reasonable price point anyway (under $10K?).

But more than dolar value, I find it difficult to understand why music lover's would dispense/sell
off their treasure music colletion; so much history/memory -meaning behind it all.
