Audioshark seems to be going to the next level with the quality and quantity of threads and posts. While other audio forums seem to be fading, AS is kicking a**!

Thank you Brent. I’m happy you’ve noticed. I have sensed it too. Everyone has been great and I know Mike and I especially appreciate all the posts.

Fairly steady stream of new members from the other forums is a good thing with exposure to different companies and products. Glad to have been here from early on and watch it grow.

My theory, aside from AS being mostly nice guys and genuine audio enthusiasts, we are mostly more veteran in the hobby and hopefully beyond the nonsense that causes flame wars, like cables, or, all of one type component sounds the same, etc.

Peace man

Thank you for recognizing! We are indeed and it’s all because of our awesome members like you! Thank you to those who have been starting new threads on interesting topics (audio related or not) and thank you to the guys in Munich this week for the terrific photos and commentary.

You nailed it. Our guys have experience. Real life experience listening and actually living with a lifetime of equipment, the importance of the room, setup, clean power, etc.

I cannot believe the utter nonsense I read on other forums. So much BS theory without the practical experience. I read one clown said he knew exactly what a piece of gear was going to sound like from the design and specs. Trust me, he hasn’t a clue and was dead wrong about the piece he sonically theorized about - because I actually own that piece.

The experience combined with a willingness to spend time helping new entrants (like me, 6 months ago and still learning). That is how to grow the base - time, effort and patience (“no stupid questions”).

Yes, this is a very nice and friendly forum.

For me personally practitioners like Sharks here offer the most relevant feedback. When you have lived with some gear for a while, and within a system and acoustics you are accustomed to, you know what it can or cannot do.

And half of the music I am listening to currently is picked up from suggestions on the forum.

Thanks Mike, Joe and Mark, and everyone participating.

I left another site and came over here nearly a year ago. The other site was just a marketing machine for the egotistical owner, and any disparaging remarks about his product lines were quickly deleted.

This is a true, honest site not built an the basis of feeding the ego of the site owner.

Happy to be here.

Yeah, i know these kind of guys!!
What never stopped surprising me is, if this hobby has to do with the ears, how can they not be part of the choices!? :dunno:

The same happened here in Portugal with one audio forum.
Dead long time ago.
(It was clearer to me that the owner was quite deaf :D)

Happy to be here too :hey:

Thanks for posting this sentiment Brent.

AS surely has grown from the earlier days and the neat thing is that each new member (almost exclusively) seems to bring with them a good attitude, open mind and kindness. Sure, we have disputes and discussion that can sometimes get a bit heated but between the even handed moderation and the self-governing ability of the group, its rare that these discussions get out of control. I appreciate that.

Thanks guys.

I agree with the posts, so far.
Some of the most interesting and useful threads are usually found on Audioshark!

I would like to add it's a benefit for Peter, Mr Tanner from Bryston and other industry participants to hang out with us, providing news and help. It's a plus for the forum and in my eyes says a lot for the company. So thanks
