I had some ML 33H mono blocks for a short time many years ago. Back then, I really wanted to continue to embrace the Madrigal ML stable. That vintage/era of ML had some fabulous products, indeed collectibles today. Unfortunately, the high maintenance to keep such gear in good working order years into the future has haunted the brand. Also, since the days of HK, ML lost its signature & became a different thing.
My dream was to own a complete reference rig back then including the formidable 33s. Other events in my life altered that dream. Then when I dreamt about ML, I had nightmares about capacitors, millions of them. I would get consumed by a sea of failing capacitors.
My memory of ML amps then was that they were black, fast but more on the analytical side. Today in comparison to then, I believe I am in a better place with McIntosh & MC2301s.
