Wondering if there are any Mark Levinson or Proceed / Madrigal Labs owners here on AS?

If so, please share your gear and experience.

I had some ML 33H mono blocks for a short time many years ago. Back then, I really wanted to continue to embrace the Madrigal ML stable. That vintage/era of ML had some fabulous products, indeed collectibles today. Unfortunately, the high maintenance to keep such gear in good working order years into the future has haunted the brand. Also, since the days of HK, ML lost its signature & became a different thing.

My dream was to own a complete reference rig back then including the formidable 33s. Other events in my life altered that dream. Then when I dreamt about ML, I had nightmares about capacitors, millions of them. I would get consumed by a sea of failing capacitors.

My memory of ML amps then was that they were black, fast but more on the analytical side. Today in comparison to then, I believe I am in a better place with McIntosh & MC2301s.

I used the 32 preamp and 432 amp for 4-5 yrs.
Both were excellent performers but lean. 432 had tons of drive but not the full sound i got when i switched to pass arc and then nagra.
I loved the design and controls of the 32 but the sound of an arc ref 3 led me to sell the ML and embrace tube preamps .

I have the Proceed AVP2+6 and the companion CVP2. Bought them used to control my mch and video system after many very positive (and no negative) internet comments about the sonic quality, with which I concur. Incredible flexibility and a bit complex, but not terribly hard to program. However, it is an older system, pre HDMI and only has one external 5.1 input. My mch system outgrew it, needing two 5.1 inputs (Oppo and Exasound E28). So it sits in storage at the present time. I probably should put it up on Audiogon or ebay.

I have the no.52 preamp. 512 cd player and no 53 amps. absolutely a awesome set up. can't get enough of the great system.
thanks to David Baskin design audio video for allowing me to demo the no 52 pre switched out the 326S for the 52, changed the complete system to a level that only one can dream of .

I'm looking at An ATI 6007. I have seen comments in the forums that Ati has A dirty sound. Have you had any experience like that? Were there any options available when bought your amp?

I have an ATI amp, they make Mark Levinson amps does that count

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'd love to listen to some of the actual Levinson classics myself. For now I will have to do with the Proceed pieces that I've been able to acquire.

In my upstairs setup an AVP preamp and HPA2 power amp are playing exceedingly well together in strict two channel mode. The extremely low noise floor of this combined pairing is just spectacular (and welcome) when driving 95db efficient loudspeakers. The combo is musical and detailed with ample drive.

Former owner of PAV/PDSD, Amp 5, ML 27.5, ML 23.
They were tops during their time. I felt that I had probably the best home theatre setup at that time.

I have PROCEED Pre and AMP2...and a ML 360S(DAC).
Good product...
Someone has informations about AVP2+6....? Thanks..

Former owner of lots of Proceed stuff, AVP, PMDT. HPA-2, HPA-3, BPA-3. Also had a friend who worked at a high end shop for many years and did deliveries/set-ups with him of lots of stuff. Remember taking Levinson 33Hs out of their crates and setting them up.
