I have the Maggie 12's in my 2nd system hooked up to a Rega Int/Rega CDP..........i broke the 12's in over a year ago using my main system/Mcintosh setup for over 3-4 months last year. I was hoping the Maggies would grow on me.....i liked them at first, but after living with them for a year and trying diff rooms/wires/amps and to-in/out....close to wall/away from wall.....resistor/no resistor....They are not a speaker for me in the least.........im gonna get rid of them with no regrets . I am happy i tried them out though :)

I had 2.5Rs and 2.6s. My brother has 3.7s with ARC gear - he loves the combo.

Fundamentally, if I remember correctly (it's been a long time), the 2.6 had a nicer look and was an evolution of the 2.5R. To me, they sounded similar although the 2.6 ribbon tweeter was a little smoother to me. Outside of that, not a major difference.

By the way, I drove the 2.5Rs with an Adcom 555. Then, upgraded to an Aragon 4004.
