Oh....boy.....This is only product I preferred on silver over the black.

Paul - I was saying in Kevin's thread that KT88's are excellent general purpose tubes. That being said, there is magic in 300b's...but they aren't perfect either.

You may want to try some 845 amps. They strike a great balance between the two.

Of course, all of this is generalizations and just like anything, a 300b amp can be poorly designed and sound bad.

so far my impression is the 300B can be perfect for vocal and quartet or quintet music stuff. When I had the 845 last time that heat was killer in my room.

I would think the KT88's would be very good with big orchestra music. They're tubes right? It's all good!

Did you dump the MC601's yet?

I'm really having a hard time to let them go Doug....I know I will miss them so much.....

MC601's are quite different solid state amps...I ever had

i think your 275's for the big orchestra sound and the a5000's for the intimate sound are the perfect combo to have . of course the 5000's will be different and fuller and more dynamic into those tannoys than the integrated is. but i think having both types of amps there is going to keep you very happy for a long time. i didnt mention the 601's cause well they are not my cup of tea. but if you like them that much just have 3 pairs of amps.lol. then when you see you are not using one pair that much, those are the ones to get rid of down the road.

Maybe I need to put Steve on my payroll.
