About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

Yes. You mentioned basically the same thing. I need to look inside and see if anything obvious is loose or broken. Hopefully later.

Joe

Well at least you have the amps for them. Did you hear back from Roger?

The Shindo gear is all about bringing out the sense of musical drama and beauty. It highlights the technique of the musicians with beautiful tone color and excellent decay. It gives you the gestalt of the entire performance rather than focusing in on the details of individual parts for a sense of cohesion that captures the musical ebb and flow of a performance in a very natural and realistic fashion. In the traditional audiophile sonic sense, this Shindo combo is a little colored and veiled but compared to the feel of real life, it's spot on. It's not as dynamic at the frequency extremes as it is in the midrange, mimicking how I experience live music. The Shindo gear allows for long listening sessions with zero fatigue due to its relaxed and natural sound and it never turns edgy or amusical even on poor recordings. Importantly, the Shindo system flatters all music and will likely be an ongoing source of pleasure and inspiration to music lovers lucky enough to own it over the long haul. In my opinion, the Shindo electronics perform at the highest level of musicality available in audio today. I've really enjoyed my experiences here. For those looking for sheer musicality and listening enjoyment, the Shindo gear represents one of the top two or three electronics lines on the planet. After a little listening in fact, you may well decide it is the top line for your musical tastes. It's easy to see why Ken Shindo has such devoted followers for his hand-made, musical and superbly voiced audio electronics. Well done!

Sweet! You must feel like the King of Toronto being pampered by all these dealers.

What's he bringing?

Sent from my mobile.

He said he will surprise me haha ~ I told him what kind of speakers I have and he will bring couple of pre amplifiers and don't know about the amps. I was mentioning about the CCQ but he thinks D'Yqeum's are good match. Let's see how it goes. :woot:

You are very welcome Paul. I can't wait to get your impressions on the Shindo with your speakers. In your room it should be nothing short of amazing.

Remember, with Shindo it is not about trying to focus on any particular part of the sound[like how deep is the bass for example]. It is all about the truly MUSICAL presentation as whole.
I would love to hear what this combination does in your room.

Paul, I actually ran an ARC Ref5se for a while with a pair of 275's. It was a big improvement over the Mc 2300. I was never impressed with the 2300 as the sound was rather sluggish and muddy.
The Ref5se cleaned it up considerably. Sound was much more coherent and dynamic. The Ref5se is an excellent preamp, one of the best in its price range

That said after listening to a Shindo preamp I was completely blown away. So very musical!

As soon as I got delivery of my Shindo stuff the ARC and Mc gear were sold, never to return.

Not trying to stir the pot even more but when you decide to change your digital source to a really good DAC all the upgrades you are making will sound dramatically better. The difference in sound quality will be HUGE!

I'm so glad you are seeing the way with efficient speakers. The fluidity with which the music comes through, effortless and unforced is truly magic. My next trade up will be even more efficient 16 ohm Shindo or Auditorium 23 speakers. The moment I have a dedicated room like yours they will be on order.

I heard the shindo speakers in NYC. Sublime. Made other speakers sound like electronic hash from best buy
