A topic that was deleted to make disappear on another forum....

Back to the original discussion (I guess prior to the insults started flying).

I have always heard that Taiko are about the finest music servers on the market. However, and as a retired IT professional, software engineer and database expert I find it quite hard to believe that anyone would wait for up to two years for what is in essence a computer. Granted, an extreme built single purpose computer, designed to be one of the finest music servers in the world, but still at heart a computer.

Wouldn't the hardware be outdated by the time the server was delivered to the customer? I have ordered, installed, rebuilt, etc., high-end extremely powerful servers that took at the most a few weeks to receive (usually less than that).

Taiko has been beat down on this thread to the point that all is left is teeth, hair, and bone.

I have no dog in this fight because I don't own a Taiko server, but neither do some others in this thread participating in the mob beat down.

The customer who went public with being jerked around by them was treated that way by their choice of how they treated him.

Everything else was by their choice with how they've acted and chosen to treat people.

The issues everyone are having now as they are posting about is.....by Taiko's own actions.

Taiko going behind the back of one of their dealers to steal 3 sales from them so they didn't need to pay the dealer was Taiko's choice. Yes he promptly dropped Taiko after that.

The manufacturers who started talking about their dealings with Taiko and how they have chosen not to partner with Taiko is because of....how Taiko has chosen to be and act over the years.

Taiko has a special relationship with forum owners that other paying vendors don't to help protect them. "Normal" companies don't get that special protection but Taiko did.

It all comes back to Taiko and how they choose to repeatedly act. Clearly Taiko is comfortable with their business model. If customers are OK with that as well that's totally cool and the customers choice. Buyers have a right to know where they are sending their $60,000 to just like the customers being jerked around have a right to go public when they are fed up with being jerked around.

This - just like the dCS debacle - was made worse by the actions of the company and their shills. They turned what could have been a small hiccup into something more - again by their own chosen actions.

Thankfully this is an honest and transparent forum not run by shills so the truth is allowed here.

I'll say it again - WBF BANNED Mike this forum owner from WBF, yet the admin from WBF posts freely here. How that says it all.....

As someone who has no dog in the show so to speak. I build my own server, and I am sure theirs are better, but I also doubt in my modest system I would hear the difference anyway.

However, it seems like a lot of strong words and exaggerations are being thrown out. For example, that a unit caught on fire, which is about a billion times the opposite as a piece of gear failing the burn in tests. Or, saying where you spend your $60,000 versus the single most expensive item that they sell is $28,000 Euro which equates to about $32,000 USD. They also say the lead time is 12 weeks on their website, not 2 years... so who is making up the fabrications here? I could not tell you.

I have no idea what has or has not happened, but I also know some customers get a stick up their ass and make some things seem 100 times worse than it really was. What I also know is if a discussion is going to take place, then honest facts are what is needed, not made-up bullshit or exaggerations.

Hi Randy, not sure where your confusion is coming from. It's pretty cut and dry.

- 2 year wait? Check - Taiko admitted it was true
- $60K price tag? Check - that's the price on what we are talking about - not the other units others choose to deflect with
- Customer standing by it was a fire during testing resulting in more delays? Check - he's gone public in multiple places about it himself and adamant the "burn in spin" is utter B.S. Besides, burn in doesn't cause a failure that requires an RMA of parts to a 3rd party supplier preventing a customer from receiving his new unit.
- Software issues? Check - Taiko admitted it and the Taiko thread now is still confirming it
- QC issues with the casework not meeting standards? Check - it was confirmed by others on this thread
- Stealing customers from dealers? Check - they've gone public with it

The customer has repeatedly gone public with how and why taiko told him his new-not-yet-sent-out unit was going to the back of the line as it now needed to go through an RMA process and they would not simply send him out a new one.

The customers units (along with MANY of the ones that were a 2 year deal) were $60,000, not the cheap $28K some people choose to reference to try and claim "confusion".

Interesting people want to call the customer - who has gone public himself in many places - a liar on this when they themselves have no idea what happened.

No exaggerations here. Just entertaining to watch the people who can't simply accept the truth and move on and continue to try and make up excuses. It's the "he didn't fall up the stairs regardless of what your eyes saw" defense.

To each their own. People are free to spend their money with the companies they choose to. And people are free to keep their head in the sand as well. It's all just audio - it doesn't affect any of us if people choose to face the reality or choose to try and pretend it didn't happen.

I dont own any Takio products. My dealer told me that Taiko has finally cleared the backlog of Olympus. They now accept new order of Olympus.

Correct. The people who ordered in December of 2023 just recently received their units.

I genuinely hope they all enjoy their units .

Traded in my Taiko Extreme at full purchase value. I finally took delivery of my Olympus a couple of months ago. Astounding addition to my system. While I could engage in audiophile analysis as I listen, the Olympus shuts any desire to do so. It delivers an emotional connection unlike I have ever experienced to whatever music I play! ‘Twas worth the wait :)

The truth is once again exposed.

For those unfamiliar with 2nd Liner, he was exposed and made famous for being among the most nasty, deceitful and dishonest Taiko shills over on WBF.

Now the truth is exposed - he had a financial interest in his behavior.

Wow, WBF really is the den of dishonest shills.

Thanks for finally coming clean. :)

Those many posts and dealers complaining about the Taiko XDMS Software issues coming to a head sure are interesting to read.
