ok so i picked up these speakers from joe today. first off thanks joe!!! your a great person
cornwall3's 102db/ 8 ohms.
first hour was a bit clouded then they started to settle in. since i took these pics i moved the other speakers out from the sides and widened them a bit. they were too close together. if i had more room i might even go wider, but its good for now.
these things are huge.lol. 15" woofers.
the sound is huge!!! loads of bass, great fluid highs, i can crank this on just 40% volume louder than my fabers at 75% volume. way louder. when i heard them first thing i did was take off the record and put on "the wall" and all afternoon i been playing rock and roll. all the records that i havent played in awhile went on today. all my test roecord will have to wait. 50 % volume is about as high as i can stand it. any louder my ears might bleed.
on the 90db fabers 15w with alot of volume was just asking too much out of them. and they would get a grain in the upper mids when i pushed too hard. these klipsch were as loud as i ever played anything ever, and all day long and not 1 thing wrong with the sound. i couldnt push them any louder and try to make them over extend the amps . i tried.
what a great speaker this is and a great value as well.
i am so happy to have these . i have not done the low volume or medium volume sessions yet, but i will. the fabers are glorious in that area.
if i had to compare , the fabers might eak out ahead on midrange clarity and vocals. but the rest on 15w amps has to go to the klipsch. wasnt sure id like these , but i do. they are staying, hope i never get a smaller house these might not fit.
over all very musical and dynamic speaker. lots of fun to listen to. i was like a kid all day. playing my 70's rock!!!
300b's and 102db what a great thing!!!!!
oh and as you can see the boxes com in handy to block the hallway.lmao!!!
oh and a pic of my sweet new avanti audio jumpers. they came out great !!! thanks mikech

Steve,

I confess that I've never seen them nude. I am so glad that you are happy. I knew that you would be. Klipsch speaker ROCK! I'll eventually get the Walnut version or maybe LaScala. Enjoy them my friend.

Wow those things are huge! Very nice addition to the system Steve. How's that SRV sounding with those big woofers? He's probably in your room with you. Did you scoot out of there before writing the check?

They're already in your sig!

Remind my days with them :)

Now that's the speakers !!! Did you buy them Steve ? If so put those SF away LOL

Can't find the Cornwall's pic however here is another happy days with similar speakers .

Tannoy Arden with 845 .... I kind of miss them ....15" rules !!!

That's awesome! Congratulations on working things out with Joe to be able to acquire a great new addition - looks like fun to me!!

Once you get hooked with 15" driver with high efficient speakers you will never look back ;)
oh im hooked my friend!!! they really almost put out too much bass for me. i was used to clean and tight and not too low. this is different.lol.
anyway do you think i need to raise these up??they are on the floor but the tweeter is about 4" lower than my other speakers tweeter. im not sure what to do yet

thanks it was a good day for sure :)
except getting them out of my car and into the house and out of the boxes myself. that wasnt so fun

Once you raise up you will gain the image but lose the deep bass.

Please listen to some live album you will be in shock !!!!

Paul, those SF's look like petite little Italian girls next to those big American monsters!
i could fit all the drivers in the fabers into the woofer on that .lol. got to be at least a month of moving them around now too.

i was just thinking about allman brothers fillmore east. might be too late for that today.

Not completely LIVE (and the live part isn't the best recording) but still a fun one: The Marshall Tucker Band - Where We All Belong

Congrats Steve, those speakers sound like a blast!

Steve, wooohoooo!! Way to go, man you must be happy with those & that big sound, like bathing. ;) I'd go for Jackson Browne: Solo Acoustic, great double album.

Now that's a giant YES!

Love that album.
