While searching for some hard to find Rowland gear, I came upon a retailer's site that had a demo Zitron Anaconda PC for sale. I didn't buy it at first as I've never been a big cable guy - I buy mostly MOR stuff from TA and Cardas. But there's been so much buzz around these PCs and the price seemed reasonable for a reference power cord (albeit, the most I've paid for any cable!). So after a few weeks of hemming and hawing, I purchased it to feed my Rowland Model 8TiHC.

Immediately out of the box that proverbial veil just dropped. I was closer to the music than ever before. I never realized how much hash I was hearing until it was gone. Now it wasn't like taking cotton balls out of the ears difference, but I think any seasoned audiophile would hear the difference pretty quickly. And because the noise floor was lower, I feel the back of the soundstage is clearer, just a little less fuzzy.

A number of people experienced smoother highs, fuller bodied mids, and deeper bass. Others, during the break-in period, have experienced sizzling highs and/or a collapse of the soundstage. Thus far (1 day) I have experienced neither of those. Bass is a tad tighter, a shade deeper, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me. But what is clear so far is the blackness that the music comes out from and my increased enjoyment from that purer experience.

I can't wait to hear how this thing sounds after 500 hours of break-in, which is what I heard it requires. 16 down, 484 to go!:D

Nice write up Allen, thanks. It's difficult to pay so much for a cable, but when they work out in your system the sting doesn't hurt so much. It really is amazing when you think the noise is at a minimum and then it goes another level lower. Let us know how it goes as you put more hours on it.

Indeed.

So far I like it, but I'm sure you can get what I'm hearing thus far with probably lower cost PCs. I really like to hear how it sounds after complete burn in.

I've heard very nice things about the new Zitrons. I'm very glad they are working so well for you. It IS amazing when a cable(s) does this (real, imagined or a combination of both) in our systems.

I don't want to believe it but I am reading more positive testimonials on how great cables, IC's and PC's, can really improve a system.

Keep us posted Allen.

I was lucky to test a Zitron Cobra a while back and was truly impressed.I had it to compare to the new Syn Res Copper Element. Both very impressive.
I loved the light weight and flexibilty of them as well.
Enjoy that cable.

And Joe,time to give up and take the plunge.

I have so many pools to jump into, I'm not sure which is first. :(

I have about 275 hours of burn in at this point. The noise floor from my system has totally dropped. In fact, I can't listen to my system with the original PC in any more! My ears just want to shut down there's so much hash and haze. Very happy with the results!

Allen, If you love the Shunyata PC's , you should really try their speaker cables !!
Mark, I most likely will get a Zitron Python PC for my CD player and am considering their SCs as well. I was just reading Harley's review on them and he finds them reference quality SCs at 'normal' prices! How do you like the Python's in your system?
