I am tight with my mother and father. My folks visit often and I always ask them to bring over tunes because when they are around, it's all about them!

My momma brought over Fleetwood Mac: Tusk LP. I'm guessing the original. She told me she purchased it from some GEMCO back in the Late 1970s. GEMCO? What's that! OMG...that's like 40 years ago...scary!

Anyway, I ran it through the ClearAudio Double Matrix Sonic and gently placed it on the McIntosh MT10 and kick-stared the system.

Asked my folks to take a seat in that sweet spot of the listening space and when the tunes began to play, my mom started to tear and that swollen face... you know what I mean...

I immediately asked, Momma... what's wrong... with fear in my eyes. My momma grabs my face and smiles...and says... I love you.

She was taken with the sound and fill with memories and emotion and was so happy to share that moment with her son, ME :)

Dad, he's tough. I ignored him LOL

Anyone have that moment or similar to share?

I love my parents! After all, they gave me the gift of life!

Cherish that David, you one of very few who did not constantly hear: "turn that crap off" no matter what.

Mike,
Your father is always beside you.
Don't never forget it
You have a friend here to give your comfort when you need it
I know is hard, don't know it yet but you are a wonderful son

Great story David. Thanks for sharing.
During his last months of life, my father was spending all his week ends with us.
One day I made him listen to the system. He liked it a lot.
He told me : " that is a beautiful hobby you have my son".
I miss him a lot.

Before my Dad passed, I used to crank his favorite operas and other music on my Klipsch Cornwall III's for him. I could see the joy in his face as he sang along. I miss him. :(
