I am having so much fun with this camera. First is the simplicity. Second is the ergonomics of the camera and lens. Third is I love walking around with it and a 38. And lastly and most important, is when I download images. I recently got it, can't wait to take it out west, etc.
 
I like to shoot horse races so a little speed is needed. On the other hand, the photos are just for me, and not that great I'm sure, so I have good enough, far from the best, just for fun stuff.

I've always taken photos with the concept of experimenting (like I do in audio) and seeing what works and what doesn't and learning from it.

It's like when I cook - once I nail the recipe I am bored. I like the trying to improve.

I agree with your outlook of just have fun with it.

I’m at the oaks today- i own a very small piece of a runner in the oaks
Doing the derby at the the thoroughbred club in Lexington
Too old for the derby madness

Great thing about digital is if you get lucky on one out of 20 you can delete 19

Not surprised to see the spike in speaker pricing. Once electronics became essentially transparent, there’s little left to differentiate. Many companies that once focused only on electronics have added speakers to their lineup. Speakers are where the real audible differences and pricing power reside. Traditional speaker manufacturers can now raise prices and introduce new models (active speakers with DSP) that command even higher premiums. The big winners will be electronics makers competing on price and specs, and established speaker brands benefiting from additional features and sustained demand.

the spike in pricing has much more to do with actual large cost increases than anything else.
The price of transportation has doubled. The value of the American dollar is down 8-10 percent.
Take these costs and multiply them over the various parts and supplies required to build product plus on foreign imports tariffs and you will see the price increases..
For example I bring in gear from Germany- 10 percent Tarif. dollar versus Euro down 8-10 percent and transport costs doubled.
That makes for significant price increases.
