Terrific list, Mike! For me, it would actually be Bob Seger. Against the Wind, Like a Rock; these songs really resonate with me and take me back.

Jennifer Warnes writes beautifully and has a clear, uninflected singing voice to get her songs across. "Lights of Lousianne"

Townes Van Zandt

Here's one that just moves me every time I hear it.

...Ah, the sculptor stands stricken

and the artist he throws away his brushes
When her image comes dancin'
the sun she turns sullen with shame

And the birds they go silent
and the wind stops his sad mournful singing
When the trees of the forest
start gently to whisper'in her name

larry norman , especially his song i wish we`d all been ready
mavis staples . as she was there with king and still sounds wonderful and she means it

Love James Taylor - photo from last night at Wrigley Field. Bonnie Raitt opened for him. Awesome show.

How do I get my photo in the post instead of being a thumbnail?

I think if you add the photo "inline" when you post, it will fill the box.
