What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?
I've lost count on the number of different pressings I have of this album. This is THE one to have.

Now spinning: Donald Fagen -
Morph The Cat . . . [180 gram]
Alison Krauss/ Windy City, Grooved Spinning Media, 33 rpm.
I am a big Alison Krauss fan, but of this record - not so much. The beginning is all very much million times recorded before stereotype country whining. I also miss the Union Station playing spirit and the bluegrass, it's all just too mediocre. Especially the guitars totally lack ideas. The B side I find more inspired and enjoyable.
As an album it's ok, but a bit disappointing from a multiple time Grammy winner. Might do well in the country charts though, maybe she just needs to fill the coffers once in a while. I also do not get the Chicago reference, as this album is so deep downtown Nashville. Guess it's me trying to see dear Alison as an audiophile's darling.

Some old masters for a change: Donald Byrd, his musical soulmate Pepper Adams, and Herbie Hancock on his first ever commercial recording.

I guess your name needs to be Coltrane to have McCoy Tyner as a supporting act.

Another great reissue from AP.
Probably one of the best SQ piano recordings there is, interpretation also very good:
Nojima Plays Liszt, half-speed recorded 45 rpm vinyl.
