What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

The Boss at his best really.

Bruce Springsteen/ The River, 33 rpm Vinyl.

Ben Webster, John Hodges: The Complete 1960 Sextet Jazz Cellar Session.

Ben's Sax really deserves vinyl and tubes - gorgeous.

Woah! That looks nice, with two fabulous talents. Who produces that album?

Yes, and good sounding too. It's a Direct Metal Mastering album, Waxtime 771721. What I also particularly like is Herb Ellis on guitar on the album, this is Hodges' only recording together with Ellis.

Manu Katché: Live in Concert, Paris. 33 rpm vinyl.

Glad you like it. This is one of the best features of the AS forum for me, an opportunity to discover new gems others have in their collection.

Btw, another thing, the album likes it to be played loud.

Today I tried it with a little more volume than I usually listen with, and the soundstage and finesse of Katché's play came out even better.

Interesting considering Waxtime records out of Spain are generally considered as Bootleg vinyl reissues.

You are of course right, it is not a RR or MOFI pressing :).

But for what it is, it actually is surprisingly good. Reason might be that they seem not to be making them casually, they have a site called 'Jazzmessengers' where they are releasing a lots of re-issues.

This is a funny one: The CD with a very similar looking cover is very Jazzy and nice, this one however is quite boombastic. Same vocals, but on the vinyl dubbed with some serious beat. Interesting.

Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression. New album from Iggy with help from Josh Homme and Dean Fertita from QOTSA.

US release but pressed @ Pallas Germany and mastered by Chris Bellman. Nice analog recording. Its actually slower than recent Iggy albums and will take a few plays to get fully into it
