1. Analog (Vinyl & R2R )

2. CD ( CD and SACD)

3. DAC

You have only one choice ! What would that be ? :hey:

Right now it is definitely #1. I do wonder what happens in the future if I don't have the manual dexterity to handle a tonearm.

How are you going to handle your crank? :disbelief:

The amount of vinyl I have FAR outnumbers any other formats in my possession.

I have all because there is no way to enjoy music totally by having just one, but if i have to , then CD/Digital , trumps all with convenience, selection , portability, et al ...

BTW , I have more analog than Digital

I only have one source, and it's not any of the ones listed, closer to 2 and 3 combined, definitely not 1 (ever) :hey:

If I only had one - digital. Not that it sounds better but - i still want it on my phone/car/etc. and music everywhere is better than better music in one place.

I left analog back in 1998. I'm all digital these days; however, lately I've been craving some of that analog musicality that digital (even the best) can't provide.

With that stated, it's quite cool to have 2K+ recordings accessible from my NAS via my iPad by just clicking on the Lumin app. And, 25M+ songs available thru Tidal.

#1 for me. I very rarely listen to digital on my system. The only digital I listen to is Tidal and I do that mostly to find things to buy on vinyl.
This is on my home system. At work its the opposite.

R2R may be better but the choice of recordings available is a joke and their price is a joke too.

Only one source well it depends on where I am, I can't take my TT with me on long vacations to some place in the US other than my home. I can't take my TT when I drive around in my car on a long trip. I don't own thousands of LP's ( hundreds) I really haven't seen anyone getting by TSA while carrying their TT to listen to music, while at the beach with the wife, I use my smart phone and some good ear buds, so for a total general use "everywhere" one source, I'm picking door number three = digital.

My Astell Kerns Ak240 along with my smart phone does just fine when I'm away from home. Now if I'm stuck at home with No where to go, and since I enjoy music, it's my Lumin 90% of the time since it allows me the choice of a vast music selection from downloads, my rips from SACD's and CD's, and its excellent access to Tidal. Now if I like something I hear on Tidal and if its available on LP, I buy the LP, because I do enjoy vinyl.. But a lot of the music I grew up with is NO longer around on vinyl which makes my music source selection easy. Its all about the music. Without the music you actually enjoy, a source just becomes another box on a rack.
