What DACs do DSD512?

I'm seeing talk of MQA Tidal music upsampled to DSD512 and played via HQplayer with amazing results. Now I'm confused, a little.

How do I prepare for this wonderful new future?

Would something like the above be better than a hardware MQA solution aka MQA capable DAC?
