......

Well, it's something I'm listening to tonight (or today), ...

No no Evange, everything is just fine; like I said it was just a simple remark, because we can easily see what you're listening to, three times! :D

I know I know; "Jazz music" thread, "What you're listening to" thread, and "What album is spinning on your TT" thread.

Here's my own way of interpreting those (3) threads:
1. Vinyl thread is good for all "Vinyl" music listening (any music genre, analog LPs, 33 1/3s, and 45s and 78s).
2. Strictly Jazz is good for Jazz music listening (any media: vinyl, CD, SACD, downloads, hi-res files, cassette tapes, DAT tapes, 8-tracks, R-2-R tapes, DVD videos and Audios, Blu-rays, etc.) ...Analog and/or digital, but strictly Jazz (classic jazz, progressive jazz, alternative jazz, avant-garde jazz, acid jazz, any jazz at all and all that jazz).
3. What you're listening to tonight: Anything goes (from 1. and 2. above), +++ ...Even the birds singing outside or inside your home, or your own musical instrument you're playing yourself, or the TV show you're watching and listening to on your TV, or youtube. ...AM r.a.d.i.o., FM r.a.d.i.o., HD Radio, all type of radios. ...Infinite listening.

Now, me, I pick one of them (usually the music genre: Classical, Jazz, Blues, ...) and I simply post it in its dedicated thread; by music genre.
Because any medium is good (analog and digital). * Except in the "Vinyl" thread, which is obviously analog.

If you only listen to vinyls you can always post in that thread. ...Or any other specific music genre threads because LPs and CDs and SACDs, etc. are good.

Or/and! Also in what you're listening to tonight because it includes every music genre and every media.

But why post your music selection in three threads when we all know what you're listening to (music genre and medium) in one thread only?
That's all. No problem, you can post it in as many threads as you like, even CDs in the album's thread because a CD is also a music album.

Many other audio forums have similar music threads; like AudioKarma for example, they have one for each day of the week, music genre, and only vinyl. It don't matter at all to me where and how many times people want to post their music selections; and I noticed that before.
Only this time I simply made the remark. I perfectly see your point and you are abso!utely correct.

* Yeah, I believe a lot of us also looked before for a "thumbsup" emoticon. ...This one is the closest one, I think: :peace:
And this one is also fine:

...

But why post your music selection in three threads when we all know what you're listening to (music genre and medium) in one thread only?

...

No problem Bob.

Question: Why have three different threads if you know what I'm listening to "in one thread only"?

Just curious ....

Anyway, it doesn't matter.

Have a good night.

I knew it! I just knew that you were going to say exactly that.

That's only because. :D

* Seriously, you are 100% right; we can have only ONE music thread.
But because humans are so complicated we have several ones. :D ...It just don't matter, just like you said.

Have a wonderful evening Evange, and remember: We are totally free in a rockin' music world.
["Rockin' in the Free World" - From Neil Young's album: Freedom}

Evange, just a simple remark. :) ...Why posting the same music selection in three different music threads? :)

* I love your pictures by the way, and your music selections of course.

Seems to me that one posting should be adequate. Also, it would be helpful to always add the label and catalog number. Since you are trying to influence and/or impress others why not help them out and make it simple.

Yeah, that too we are totally free to do. ...Just do it. :)

* Also, you can give a link, like few members here do, of that album (CD/SACD), for free music samples.
- Me I go one further: You can click on all the picture covers of all my music selections to not only get music samples but also all the info on the particular album, year, artist, biography, discography, compilation, different record labels of all his albums with catalog numbers, and even a review on that particular album playing at the time of my posting.
And it for sure isn't to influence and/or impress others; it's only and simply for pure friendly informative purpose. :)
I do it for love, I do it because life is short on our planet, and I don't wanna miss a thing.
And I do this in all the music threads, and all the movie threads, and at all audio/video forums of the WWW (Wide Web World) of the Universal Internet. :audiophile: :entertaining:

And I never asked anyone to do as I do, but I did suggest it couple times or so in the past.
Only few people take the extra time to add value to their 'music' posts, but the vast majority of people (everywhere) they simply don't take the time to do it. But, some people post their own cool pictures of their albums (LP cover; front & back), and few even show you the vinyl spinning on their turntable. It is people's right to choose their own musical path in life, and everyone on our planet deserves respect and dignity.

It's up to each one of us to be creative and informative and free to do as we please (as long as no one gets hurt of course); even Evange's own style.
Because at the end it's all about the love of music anyway. And there is simply no one way better than another, as music has no boundaries, no laws, and any medium (digital/analog) is as good as gold to our set of ears. :audiophile:

Bob, I like the way you post an album which allows a trial listen. But I plan to stay away from the love angle.

Thank you Hiker.

You know, that love angle, it's a much better angle than all the other virulent (insulting and disrespectful), biased, and financially driven angles from the vast majority of the other audio forums out there (not all of them, of course not).

It's a base in the North Pole, it's a line in the Sahara desert, a wave in the Pacific ocean, ridden by one of them shark, and just wait till the going kick starts for real good. ...Won't take very long now; we're on the right course of colliding, of having intercourse with everything music and audio and video related.

Watch us! You're in for a wild ride, and you're lucky to be already here and be one of the first witnesses of that super rocket launcher. We're on the platform right now, and that steel is getting hotter and hotter by the day. Strap yourself real tight!

Right now I'm listening to this:

* And it ain't my fault if I had an excellent education. I am the way I am, with all my attributes and defaults.

Not trying to influence "or impress" anyone by my postings. I know what I have which is all that matters to me. Just trying to turn people on to all kinds of music. Yes ?? :)

The forum thread "set-up" is somewhat confusing, as I've previously mentioned. If you can't grasp what I'm referring to, picture this:

I have a vinyl record, that I'm listening to tonight, and it's jazz.

So ..... you tell me .... on what thread do I post?

Am I to presume that people look at all threads, or just the threads they are interested in? You like jazz, but play only CDs. Why would you look at the "vinyl" thread? Others play vinyl and not CDs. If I don't post my music selection in vinyl, they would never know, would they?

All my posts include Artist, Album Title, and Label (re-issue where applicable).

And yes, aside from posting label and catalog number (I'll try to work on this one, although don't hold your breath), I may as well include the bar-code.

If you have a hard time finding the music being posted, perhaps you should let someone help you.

This is tiring and not productive.

I think I'll post some tunes!

Later....

Abso!utely! :)

In anyone of them music threads, or in all of them. :)

Evange you are right; very seldom that everyone read all the posts from all the threads. So I fully agree with your 'way'.

All my posts include Artist, Album Title, and Label (re-issue where applicable).

Again you are right; if someone is truly interested in a certain music selection that a member posted (be it because of the picture cover, or the artist, or the album's title), that member is for sure going to investigate on his own.
And he'll/she'll go where her inclination is stronger (analog LP, or digital CD/SACD or download hi-res audio files).

-.- Keep posting the way you do, we all love you.
