If I didn't know any better I'd swear I was listening to a SACD spinning in my Esoteric Grandioso transport. But it's not. It's 320 kbps Spotify. For those who scoff at lossy Spotify all I have to say about that is your hardware is letting the team down. Spotify can deliver an audiophile experience.

A little while ago, I swapped my Maggies so that the tweeters are on the inside again. Last time I did this was with the Emotiva amp and Quad preamp. On some recordings, it sounded good, on others, not so much. On most recordings, the system sounded a bit narrow and congested, almost no width beyond the edge of the speakers, and treble seemed to be a bit disconnected from the rest of the sound.
However, with the Pass XP-20, Odyssey Stratos monos and Auralic Altair, it's an entirely different system with entirely different results with the tweeters on the inside. Very intimate, very intoxicating, very life-like, very involving, hence why I haven't been on the forums lately. I've just been listening, and listening, and listening some more. I haven't even been looking at gear or cables. Just listening.
In tribute to Robbie Robertson who graces the cover of the new 2024 Musicdirect catalogue --brought the 'ole Akai GX-400D from upstairs and wired it into the VAC Master.
