What are you listening to tonight ?

Pulled out an old album I found with my mothers pile of goodies. The album was Young-Holt Unlimited - Just a Melody. Terrific jazzy album with good toe tapping tunes.
I am listening to a track Soulful Strut, and saying to myself, This sounds just like Swing Out Sister's - Am I the Same Girl. There was at least one other track that also sounded as familiar but I have not matched them up yet.

So on a whim this morning, I looked up the Young-Holt Album and then Googled Am I The Same Girl and found the wiki entry and found this-

"Am I the Same Girl?" is a popular song written by Eugene Record and Sonny Sanders. First recorded in 1968 by Barbara Acklin, "Am I the Same Girl?" charted most successfully in the US as a 1992 release by Swing Out Sister. However, the song had its greatest impact as a 1968–69 instrumental hit single by Young-Holt Unlimited under the title "Soulful Strut".

So right now playing is Swing Out Sister inspired by Young Holt Unlimited

Sometimes I just get pulled into a great recording. Anything by Francis and the lights, Flora Cash, baby it’s ok.
John Legend darkness and light. Supertramp, crime of the century 24/192. Nils Lofgren acoustic live. Imelda May life love flesh blood. Nothing new here just very easy to get into.

If you are a fan of Lucinda Williams. Her version of Jimi Hendrix song Angel is wonderful with Charles Lloyd and his band.
