One of the albums from the Analog Productions Miles Davis Quintet, The Great Prestige Recordings set.
It's been too long since I've listened to this classic.
This is a superb album, with a fantastic quintet (Lee Morgan, McCoy Tyner, and others). As far as I know, it was Wayne Shorter's Blue Note debut. Good pick!
meanwhile, back in austin... wayne hancock | choice cuts is a pretty tasty collection.
while bob wills is still the king, wayne "the train" hancock is surely doing the texas swing and countrypolitan genres justice here in the modern era.
My brother in law was the singer, pedal steel guitar player and acoustic guitar player (not all at the same time ) in a Texas swing band, when he was alive. He played country gigs near Navasota. Who doesn't like Texas swing? Ha ha.
