Very nice.... I thought it was vapor ware but it actually does exist. Enjoy and be sure to share your impressions

I don't usually get excited about integrateds but this thing is really bad ass. How cool would it be to have the tubes retract inside the case and extend up with a switch on the remote?

Oh, this beauty paired with Avantgarde Duo's or some Tannoy Canterbury's??? Drool...

Hello folks,
Thinking about buying this amp to try on my modified JBL Olympus S8r.
Who owns it here ? Which speakers do you use ? Which Output Transformer Impedance did you choose ?
Thanks a lot !

Hello Mike,
I admit that the new price is what tempted me actually.
For sure it is very hard and unfair to the dealers who paid the original price before WE went “direct”.
WE must be desperate to do this.

I look at this amp in a very different light than all of you.

Anyone see a problem here?

See the problem? If you do this to your dealers who have bought demo product and have been selling your product for a few years and then you do this?

Speaks volumes.

such bs, let legit dealers build the product line, get them out in the field and sell to anyone else who can ride on there hard work of building the product line

It does.

Western Electric developed the 'parafeed' (parallel feed) SET technology to get around the bass problem all SETs have when using a gapped output transformer. This is an example of a parafeed amp and really is the way to do it if you want to use an SET.

Normally a parafeed SET is less expensive than the traditional counterparts since the output transformer and in this case, Constant Current Source as a plate load, are so much less expensive.

Apparently they thought that the use of a Constant Current Source (CCS) instead of a choke plate load was patent-able, and the USPTO agreed, as best I can make out because they didn't search enough to find out that sort of thing has been understood for quite some time. Perhaps there is a nuance I'm missing...

Hi all,
I'm coming from Klipsch Heritage with high sens 100 plus dB (Khorn, La Scala,...)
Own several low wattage SET tube amps from 300b, 2A3, 45
At first, after see WE91E lower msrp like 50% off, I jumped on the deal after read/view up some reviews.
And here is my impression
As hard fan of tube amp, this model turn me down. It more like own SS amp. No tube rolling! No rectifier tube! Its look is not classic tube amp.
It sounds good, really good after burned in, but just the same level of $2k of my Alan Eaton, or my Coincident 300b and this amp is 4x $
Its fancy look for decor. My First Watts J2 sounds close to this 300b for half price, and run forever.
So, it sounds good for 300b, but no fun. And you can have same level of SQ for much less $ depend on your speakers sens.
SET 300b is 8 wpc vs this WE91E 20wpc. After half price MSRP adjustment, price is still high IMHO compare to products out there. You're (or me) buying name brand 🥵

My understanding is there was not much true tube design consideration on this amp - that is was a "stick a label on it" type design.

I'm told by my friends who were involved the people who designed this amp are not tube people and their mission wasn't to build a great tube amp, it was to build a marketing piece.
