First time at an indoor range. Pretty cool. Got to shoot a .40cal, 9mm and my .380 ...LOL...My first shot was a dead shot bullseye...groupings stayed good out to 30ft (10 yards) and still damn good at 15 yards. I also have a Marlin 60 .22 rifle but will have to wait for woods shoot for that....Hey a new hobby....

Target shooting is fun.

If I was a soldier I would love to be a sniper (long range - a mile away). :) ...Only shooting @ the real bad dudes.

* EDIT: Interesting that you went to the shooting range today Rob; on International Women's Day.
Got some' for the wifey and daughter? :)

Happy International Day Deb! :)

It was ladies day ..ladies shoot free...so a wig, some tight jeans and a close shave...LOL

I had a BLAST ....really did. Its been a while but I did sign up for a membership. Want to hear something funny ? Guns are easy...ammo is almost non-existent - Look up .22 lr ammo. A million sites - click in, all OUT OF STOCK...turns out what used to be the most common is getting horded like crazy....Zombie apocalypse ?

Congratulation Rob. It's a great time. My friend and I reload and used to go shooting once or twice a week when it was "affordable". Now it almost impossible to buy ammo, let alone components. Love to see new people pick up the hobby.

Absolutely Joe!

My brother law (who trained me) used to reload. Could not imagine getting our brass back in that place though. Piles of it and getting swept forward with squeegee brooms. Looked like a brass mine...The whole experience is pretty cool. Follow the rules, do things right. Brass flying everywhere. When he was shooting one casing went up and landed perfectly on my shoulder...LOL

We'll be going near his home in a few weeks for some woods shooting...get to use some rifles.

Anyway..glad to see people believe in those rights. Even before being an owner, I always believed it was a good idea. You just have to be sure owners are stable. I don't mind the paperwork, restrictions, etc. I have nothing to hide. Just don't stop me when I DONT have anything to hide or am not an unstable person. Its my only protection against the latter two..LOL

Imagine a world without guns, none! ...No grenades, no missiles, no tanks, no atomic bombs; just bows and arrows and axes and fists and iPads. ...Like the Vikings. :)

...Criminals, no guns. ...Cops, no cops. Everyone patrol their own territory, with their elbows, bows and arrows. :D
...Practice shooting; catapults and slingshots. ...And darts.

.22 is not kids stuff..lol

single largest used caliber of all...over a billion rounds per year in the US alone.

And like I said, no slowdown in production - but many calibers are OUT OF STOCK because people are hording.

The snow here in MN is starting to thaw. I can't wait to get to the outdoor range. My son and I shoot trap and skeet as well as targets with a Navy version of the Barreta M9 9mm pistol, a .22 bolt action rifle and a WWII Russian Mosin Nagant carbine rifle. The Nagant shoots a 7.62x54R round. It's a huge round and a hoot to shoot. It is louder than a 30-06 and the muzzle flash is huge. Sometimes it annoy's people when we are at the range due to how loud it is. Other people ask if they can shoot it. The rifles are cheap and can be had for about $120. Ammo is dirt cheap at about $90 for 440 rounds.

Very cool...but if you shoot in winter in MN, do the bullets freeze in mid-air...hit the target in spring ? LOL

They hit the target some time in July as June can be cold! We have been colder than Alaska this year! It makes for good music listening. During the summer months I don't use the gear much which is a good thing, between my Pass X250 amp and my BAT preamp, I can heat all 4000sq' of my house.
