The Wadax Studio Player has been one of the hottest items in the market as as usual with this brand there is always a lot of turmoil.
I am not sure what the reason for that is since Wadax is a fairly quiet group and make what many feel are amazing products. This mew product is way far removed in price from the other products and in that regard is shocking.
I am a dealer so i want that out in the open but the responses we have been getting from thos who came heard, traded, bought have been fun.
Have you experienced the Wadax Studio Player? Own one?
Are you looking forward to the new add on items due this fall?

I heard the Studio Player at one of my local dealers and was very disappointed. It did not compare favorably to either the Select II or the Nagra DAC. A Cascade was not available at that time to enter into the comparison.

ok this was all in the same place and on the same system?

just sold my last one this afternoon until late September. Funny have most of them traded in dCS and last night the clients first reaction was " I can't believe how much noise is gone "
this is the fourth ex dCS client to purchase a SP and trade or sell their DCs gear

Have been watching Wadax for a while and have been a fan of their designs.
Good to see that you are getting positive interest stateside.

At Munich, Wadax completely dominated with 9 rooms using their gear.

I did not go to Munich this year however even last year they had a large number of rooms using their gear. The studio player line will bring their vision to a much larger audience . It’s been very hot here the last few months as production has been catching up with orders . The wait lists however are only a few weeks usually .

Its early but it looks like November 8th a Saturday we will be showing and demonstrating the full Studio Line with Clock, Power Supply and Blue Akasa cables at the new store featuring Brand Representative and Product Expert Brandon Lauer.
We will be serving some food and drink and maybe even some sales incentives ...only the Shadow knows :)

I have spent the last two weeks or so with the Wadax Studio Player in my big room. I have set it up with the full loom of Shunyata power cords, interconnects , Altaira X and X cables, a reiki super switch and Jindo stream cable and it sits on a specially made EVP platform that Norm built for my Wadax Server. The difference between this and the reference is honestly hard to justify the difference in price, but alas that is the HE. The optional Power supply is due in January and I am really excited to see what happens as I do remember what the reference supply did for the server.
Compare what you like but at roughly 40 k this is a really great item and deal.

Does the Studio clock have an MSRP yet? I haven't seen any information whether it's a 10 MHz master clock or a 44.1/48 word clock. I tried an Esoteric 10 MHz clock with the Studio Player but couldn't get it to work.

So the SP is a CD/SACD transport, DAC and Streamer- not a server has no storage.
There will be an add on power supply - retail 29800 and a clock retail 28500 for those that want to go ALL out.

I liked the Wadax SP but to pimp it out to its maximum that's almost another $59K. Ouch. The standalone Wadax SP didn't sound as good as my Esoteric, actually it wasn't even close. But adding the PSU + clock would get it closer, or maybe even better.

That's why they are options! You are certainly entitled to your opinion but that opinion is far from everyone's. I think its a great plan as to give people options on how far they want to go. I know that the SP alone will satisfy most all by itself and not everyone is going to travel the road to 100k. That's why most companies including Esoteric make outboard adds on as well.
Sometimes audiophiles make no sense. They want o hear that the 100k MSB compared to a 40k Wadax but not that Wadax has options that could change the game , if you want that, if not then choose wisely and enjoy.
