Vinyl's resurrection: Sales at a record high

I'm streaming hi rez files now and lovin' it. I can only imagine how much better vinyl is. One day...

I saw that yesterday morning. Did you notice the vintage McIntosh 225 amp in the background during the Black Keys interview. Good segment.

Yep...there was a vintage MC225 and a McIntosh tuner (couldn't make out model) and what looked like an audiophile table with a thick metal platter (couldn't make out what it was though).

A VPI Classic.

Myles,,,you are right. That's a VPI Classic. The platter and tonearm definitely looked like VPI to me when I first looked at the video but the all-black plinth kind of melded in with the black pieces around it, so I couldn't make it out properly but yep that's a VPI Classic I.

A real pity United pressing plant in Nashville is probably the worst in the world. They can do decent pressings, but seem to choose not to most of the time.

They are doubling their production - more reasons to stay away from US pressings completely until they have one thing in their production line - QUALITY.

Really? What about Chad's QRP? These are some of the best LPs that were ever pressed.

Agree however Chad relies on audiophile reissues of albums that sound excellent regardless- hardly what I call leading edge in new music.

RTI can do excellent pressings as well, however when Capital claim they do 35% or higher of all pressings in the US we need to be wary.

Almost the entire Jagjaguwar label is pressed at Capital - every lp I have ever bought have had pressing issues and this is just one example.

When I have the choice I always buy the Euro pressing first before the US pressings.

Warners are smart and have all their domestic pressings done by Pallas in Germany.
No Beatles Rainblow pressing issues with the new Led Zeppelin pressings as ALL global pressings are done in Germany.
Same with Neil Young new releases, excluding the latest lp on TMR's.

Informative post, thank you.

I had to return my first copy of Neil Young at the Cellar Door. The second side was unplayable.
