I've read many good reviews and posts regarding the Venom 3's so I decided to pick a couple up. I'm using them on my integrated as well as my DAC. My previous PC's seemed to bring a bit of a more forward sound to my system. With the Venom 3's I'm getting a nice relaxed sound along with great detail and depth. It seems like there is a bit more bass as well. I know there are a few other members here that use them and was hoping to get some more feedback about these cables.

I'm very pleased with them, and for the price they just can't be beat.

Doug,

I have to agree with your description. I feel the Venom 3's are a bit more relaxed compared to my WW SE. They are a steal for the money, and when purchased 3 or more at a time are usually a better deal. I think the length is good too. I find it very difficult to pick out differences in a short amount of time. I need to live with the gear and take my time. They are keepers for me. While I'd like to try "better" power cords, don't feel I need to rush out and pay a huge sum for a little improvement.

Shunyata has the coolest names for their products....looking at a cobra power cable myself.

+1 Joe.....I bought the required 3 for the special deal and I don't want/need to pay the big $$$ for more expensive PC's.

Joe, I agree with you about hearing a new cable in your system for a while before finding differences. I remember commenting to someone last week about my system sounding the best it ever has. I'm not going to say it's all because of the Venom's but no doubt they have something to do with it. I also agree with you that the length is perfect.

Mike, it seems like most people who have tried the Zitron series are very impressed with them. I just have an issue with garden-hose sized cords in general - (well the price of that series doesn't help me either!). I know is doesn't matter once they're plugged in because you don't mess with them again, but we all have our "things" right! :p

I just took delivery of a Zitron Anaconda PC last night. I only got to listen for a few minutes. I'll post early impressions here later tonight after I listen some more, but out of the box, so far so good.:)

Excellent! Let us know how it goes...

I noticed some softness in the bass dept. for a few days. I'm guessing it was part of the burning in period but I've put some more hours on it and things are back to normal, if not a little richer perhaps (but not rich as in lean, rich as in an overall fullness).

I can't imagine how those Zitron's sound. :audiophile:

I have a couple of venom 3s, and a black mamba CX I picked up used, as well as a wireworld aurora - but before all that the biggest improvement I got was when I added a PS audio duet. Whether it is my system or my ear, I can't usually tell much of a difference in power cables, or maybe I haven't gone far enough up the price ladder!

Ron, I think I need to start looking into power distribution/conditioning. Not that I'm unhappy with my power but it seems like everyone who adds something like this is amazed at the differences. I would probably stay within the Shunyata line. I like this new Hydra AV that's coming out soon.

I'm interested in the Venom 3's and the HC 20 amp version. Was wondering how these would sound with McIntosh. I'm wanting some pc's that's flexible and not bulky or stiff and these seem to fit the bill...

I have 3 or 4 Venom3 and one 20A version (Diamondback?). I think they would work great on anything. I have not bought into the megabuck power cords yet but these are a gigantic step up from stock and most of the other reasonably priced cords. I'm happy with mine.

Joe...thanks my friend, that's the answer I was wanting;);) I really like the Venom 3 and the HC 20 amp versions for my line conditioner and HC 15 for the amp. The Kimber's I have for sale are too big and bulky for my system.

Based on my love for my SF Evos, I have a feeling something up the ladder might be in order. There is still time to listen to some alternatives but I like what I hear on my little guys. :)

Joe - I love your avatar!

Dave, I've been very happy with mine. I had WW Aurora cords on most everything and switched to the Venom 3's. While I did like the WW cords they had a forwardness to them in my system. The Venom 3's smoothed everything out. I'm in the camp that cords can and do make a difference but can't justify spending megabucks on them. The Venom 3's are at a nice price point and I think they beat many cords costing much more. I've not been bitten by the upgrade bug since I've got them. They're keepers for me.

Doug...that's what I was hoping. I've used good pc's on my system for years and tried most everything from A-Z. I've rearranged my system and can no longer use the Kimber's I've got for sale. A friend of mine uses the Venom 3's and the 20 HC version with his ARC gear and loves them not only for the sound but their flexibility. I also like the molded iec/ac ends.

Very much interested in your impressions with the Z-Anaconda.

I have Z-Cobra's to my Hydra and to my amp, and a couple Z-Pythons from my Phono amp to the Hydra. Would love to put a Z-Python or Z-Ananconda to the power amp. I have read the python is closer to ananconda performance than the cobra is to the python, which would put the Python's in the sweet spot. As my Pythons are 15A and the Cobra's are 20A, I can't swap them around to hear the differences.

The Z-tron Anaconda has been fantastic, Bob! The proverbial layer was lifted so I can see the images much more clearly and sharply. I was able to hear deeper into the soundstage and low level detail was heightened. Absolutely fantastic!

Some have reported sweeter highs and deeper and lower lows. I did not experience this. Pretty much the same bandwidth wise, but just clearer and cleaner than ever before. Highly recommended!
