Here are pictures of unpacking my new VPI Classic 3 Rosewood turntable. It came in 2 boxes, one for the platter and one for the plinth. With it being double boxed for protection it is quite large and heavy. Jeff from A/V Solutions was able to install the Lyra Kleos cartridge and set it up before he expertly repacked it again and sent it out to me, thanks Jeff.

Hope I didn't post too many pictures. i know I am always interested in how turntables are shipped. FedEx did a fine job this time - no dents or holes in the outer box.

Congrats Paul...I am curious. Given that Jeff mounted the Kleos on the tone arm, when you set up the table and you checked the geometery, was anything off or did it come out aligned just right? I am sure VTF probably had to be tweaked but in terms of checking the cartridge alignment and hitting the null points with the enclosed protractor (usually a printed out version with VPI tables) if everything came out perfect? Thanks.

By the ay, not asking to see if Jeff knows what he's doing cos I am sure he's one of the resident analog gurus but more curious if anything in the set-up/alignment shifts when the table is broken down to ship and re-set up at your end is all. Thanks again.

Cyril, I had to tweak the azimuth and tracking force a little, with the shipping, the counter weight is the main part that can move. Cartridge alignment and overhang were fine. Jeff did a better job than I would have.

Paul...good to know. I am assuming there is a protective shell over the cartridge because otherwise that blue tape wrapped around the cartridge freaked me out :D

awesome!!! they are so cool looking i miss looking at my classic.
