You speaker experts need to put your thinking cap on for this I think! I came across this speaker and it looks sorta familiar but the name escapes me. Anyone know or heard of these?

Chat GPTs answer. No idea if it is correct.

That’s a Braun vintage speaker, designed in the Dieter Rams era.

More specifically, based on the proportions and grille pattern, it’s most consistent with one of the Braun L-series models from the late 1960s–1970s—likely:

  • L710 or
  • L810

Why this identification holds:

  • The perforated metal grille with the repeating dot pattern is a Braun hallmark.
  • The small gold “Braun” badge centered near the top matches their period branding.
  • The walnut veneer cabinet with clean, rectilinear lines reflects Rams’ minimalist industrial design language.
  • The horizontal orientation (often used in cabinetry like your photo) was common for L710/L810 setups.

Distinguishing L710 vs L810 (quick check)

  • L710 → slightly smaller, 3-way
  • L810 → larger cabinet, more extended bass, often heavier

If you can share:

  • rear label
  • cabinet dimensions
  • driver layout (with grille off)

…I can pin it down exactly.

Not sure what data resulted in ChatGPT providing that result, but those speakers are not similar in any way to the Braun L710 or L810 speakers. The Brauns were siblings of the ADS L710 and L810 speakers.
