Thank you so much, very kind. And exactly the same here: can't stop listening.

For me it will still take time to get them burned in, but IMHO they do sound great already now.

they are!
first note out of the box was unbelievable already
enjoy man! great system and space.
very happy for ya.

Real world example what an adrenaline kick in can do for a human being :-)
Kuoppis - I wish you many many hours of wonderful time with your new toys! ;-). I can give you a hand when you swap them one day for M6 - gee I'm thinking maybe they could name them Mi6 due to their obvious disappearing capabilities (sound wise) :-)
Hi Golum, I keep forgetting that we are neighbours. LoL
(Prangins).

Worked.

My wife commented this evening: "Why did you not order the bronze color in the first place, they look much better. Then you would not have had to swop." [emoji3]

Discussing the technical differences was not as straight forward.

Hahahahahaha. Priceless.

Completely logical, as I find: Why would you otherwise change LS than for color?

She understands the technical differences, but it's just not her cup of tea to get deeper into that.

What is you experience so far, how has the sound evolved?

Congrats, Kuoppis. I know you will enjoys these.

I've had low S/N S3 MkII (bronze) since April, now with over 700 hours. Following is my sense of what I've experienced during the break-in process. The first 400 - 500 hours saw substantial changes, which were not linear. At first bass was OK but not great and coherence was lacking. Then at around 150 - 200 hours bass became very pronounced, perhaps aided somewhat by less than optimal room placement, which I've worked on gradually. Coherence improved. By around 400 - 500 hours base had tightened up and coherence between drivers had evolved to exceptional. Bass now very good and much better than I'm used to. I sense minor changes still happening. And still fiddling with room placement, upgrading my old amp before I spike the speakers. Bought Jim Smith's book, "Get Better Sound," to help address room issues.

i have 150+-H on them... i think for now they became less boomy in my room and gaining some more bass texture.
the tweeter is to die for from the first note.. i didn't heard any change yet...
il wait for the 400-500h point to the BIG CHANGE as described here... but for now its a very (very) good speaker overall. if it will be better a couple of hundred hours ahead i will be very much in love..

Thanks a bunch, I'm sure I will.

It is interesting to hear about the experiences how they develop, seems to be pretty consistent. Although they sound very good out of the box, pretty much everyone says the mk2s keep evolving the first 400-500 hours. Happy to hear about the great end result.

I've also experienced improved soundstaging and imaging compared to the previous model, probably aided by the greatly improved diamond coated tweeter and alltogether better coherence between the drivers.

Congrats also for the great choice of color! [emoji3]

My understanding is also that the bass will evolve the most. I still have to put in more hours for that.

Also the significant weight increase (almost 25%) is having great impact on the sound. The thicker top plate and substantial base allow it to be more stable and have a lower center of gravity.

And I agree about the tweeter, it's really phantastic and a significant evolution. Tons of resolution with no sharpness at all.

Huge congratulations, they look awesome. That's the color I'd pick. I know that system sounds great. I'm so happy for you.

Wow!
This is the colour I'd pick ;)

byrd, in my case there was no sudden big change at 400 - 500 hours. It was more like a realization upon more careful listening than I'd been doing during break-in that the speakers had really evolved over the past weeks. My room doubles as an office, so during break-in what was playing was often in the background except when I heard something unusual (Wow, never heard that from this recording before! Let's go back and listen to that one again.).
And I agree that the tweeter is to die for. Amazing detail without being bright, fatiguing.

What I hear is also that certain observations are sometimes triggered by music bringing forward certain characteristics. And then you notice something has changed and maybe explore it a bit.

Yes, either relative to your old speaker reference point or what you remember hearing from your new speakers yesterday or last week. As others have said, our audio memories can be tricky.

Congrats on the S3mk2!
The most technologically advanced Magico outside of M series. great choice.!
