Just got my new U1 connected and so far am blown away at how good things sound.

It's a gorgeous piece of equipment, and setup was so easy, quick and error free. And the app is definitely in the top tier of music management apps I've experienced.

But most of all, I'm enjoying significant increases in clarity, instrument separation and placement, and spatial increases in every direction.

Honestly I'm surprised; I wasn't really expecting much more than a better interface and control point.

I could easily see that if I ever wanted to simplify I would want to consider the S1. With a VX-R 20 and S1, could be down to a 2-box system that seems like it could compete with most.

Congratulations, Lumin is superb. Every piece they make just works and sounds amazing. Customer support is second to none.

I fully agree with the OP. The Lumin U1 has arguably been my best investment in high-end audio. I too noticed a major improvement to the sound of my digital music - bigger soundstage, better separation of instruments, improved tonality, and more of an "analog" quality to the sound. The beauty of the U1 is that you know you are getting the highest possible quality digital output you can get to your DAC, and so you can experiment and try out different all kinds of different DACs!

With your system, I can see the X1 rather than the S1
