Tidal down?

I’ve noticed over the past couple of days streaming songs transferred to the Aurender Queue kept scrolling and would not play. Chose songs on the drive no issues.

This told me it was a strong possibility of Tidal, and from others statements it starts to qualify this.

Always best never to rely on one source!

Mine is down, but I messed with my router today and I lost connection. I have to reboot to get it back, but my wife has the monitor so I cant see it.

With Tidal down for so many yesterday, it gives a bit of insight into what it could be like for those who may rely completely on a streaming service for their music library.

My 1800+ CD's, SACD's, and albums never fail to perform. Even though I also enjoy streaming, along with my Aurender N10 and N100H music servers and hope they never fail, owning physical media ensures that I will not be left high and dry for source material when I wish to play music. This is why I continue to purchase CD's SACD's and LP's. Putting all your eggs in the streaming basket doesn't make good sense to me. The Internet of things can be fickle. Just sayin'......

Dan,I was thinking the same thing last night when it went down. I do have a hard drive full of music and still have many hundreds of CD's but have taken them all out of the system. Might have to rethink that decision LOL
Tidal was back up and working this AM and I intend to give Qobuz a try.

I have spotify, tidal, 1800 CD and maybe 100 vinyl. No one is going without. Maybe Qobuz later today if Jeff's fix works.

Rex.......By "no one" I assume you are speaking strictly of yourself because I know several people who have sold their entire CD collections, now have no physical media, and rely totally on streaming for their music source. That's fine as long as the service is up, connectivity is available, and no issues with the network or music provider exist. Streaming is cool, no doubt about it. For me it is a great source of endless musical enjoyment providing there are no delivery issues, but owning your music and having immediate access to it is a tremendous asset in my opinion.

Darn right it's important to own media. I went through a lot of work to get all my CD down onto drives and now I have copies in 3 different places. I don't want to loose all that work. But really, there are a lot bigger things to worry about in life than your music service not working for a day. If all streaming services went away, I think we would be dealing with a world economy issue that would eclipse all audio concerns.
