OMG!

I have had and still have some awesome solid state gear but nothing, and I mean nothing can touch good tube gear for sweet music. I am blown away by my GAT/ART combo like no other SS gear I've had. I am sorry but that's just my opinion. I am approaching goosebump territory again and the only two other systems to give me goose bumps was VTL MB250's with Alon Circes and McIntosh C500/MC2301 with Strads.

My Studio2's with the GAT/ART is seriously good.

Welcome to the dark side! Once you get spinning vinyl, you'll be in heaven!!

+1000 :satisfying:

There may be some things that tubes don't quite do as well as SS, but once you've experienced "that sound" that tubes can do it's all over. Just remember this feeling right here, right now, so in the future when people start telling you how "messy" tubes are you can just swat those silly thoughts away.

You have some wonderful SS gear and now some great tube gear. Enjoy it all.

I'm happy for you Joe, I hear you great tube gear is hard to beat, after careful system matching and perfect for almost any room I’m finally are where I wanted to be.

Hahahaha !! It didn't take long at all. Wait till you get it all broke in and add that kleos and steelhead to the mix!!!!! Watch out!!!!!

I can not get enough music tonight. Tubes do rule. Thanks to Manley for that saying.

I don't think you can beat the tubes especially when it comes to vocal, jazz and blues music.

Almost midnight listening to Steve Ray Vaughn & Albert King and wishing morning doesn't come :D

What about SS Class A amps, like from Classe, and others, which some cost $100,000 each (mono amp)? ...Are those any good?
I've seen some amps (SS Class A) that cost even more; $500,000 each (mono amp)! ...Are those worst than the best tube amps?

Krell, Boulder, here in the USA. ...That's without naming all those European ones.

Anyway, if you're into analog tape and album, a tube amp and preamp might be a good match indeed.
And if you're into digital hi-res audio, solid state amps and preamps might just be your ticket.
And if you're into both, a mix-and-match approach might be fun to play with. :)

Way I see it and experience with them. No matter how expensive they get each parties. Solid is still solid and tube is tube.

In my case as I mentioned earlier. With Jazz, Vocal and Blues I prefer with tubes and with Rock and classical music I like nice solid amps with it. I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion but as I said earlier no matter how expensive they are ....solid is solid. They can be come close to tube sound but still it's NOT Tube sound vice versa.

And I don't think Joe didn't meant by tube is better than solid but musicality coz tubes really make you drown in to the music very smoothly :)

Paul

You are 100% correct. I put everything on one outlet and any hum I had is gone. I also forgot that the GAT preamp inverts phase so I reversed the speaker leads. Holy cow it's even more incredible. I am floored.

You have a very valid point here Paul, I think. :)

Glad the tube magic is wowing you, Joe! It sounds incredible.

Sean,

I am so happy right now that I'm going to explode. The Studio2 sound stunning with the GAT/ART. The heat will be unbearable in the summer but from now until spring, I'll be listening to glorious music. I had a feeling but never knew how good the CJ combo could be.
